Re: The greatest modders of all time
I consider myself between the average modder and the one that cannot make stuff :U.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
I can mess with somebody else's code to no end, but I can't make something for myself without it becoming a piece of smelly poo.

My modding experience pretty much amounts to testing stuff for Shook and recommending certain vague alterations, and then occasionally making vague alterations to other mods to my preference. (Ie; I've turned the Coalition Light Sniper into a Marksman Rifle with 20 shots, semiautomatic firing, lessened damage, and shortened range.) Modding from scratch or trying to make something original just does not work out too well for me. I guess I'll have to get some more practice in so I can participate in the *SECRET EVENT ON THE SECRET FORUM OF SECRECY*

Re: The greatest modders of all time
I'm into modding since b23 and I'm beginning to make some interesting stuff, still I'm having a hard time trying to learn activity scripts.

That said maybe I should drop my other modding project idea to have some input there.
Oh right, shush.

We'll likely be taken to the interrogation office at *****CORP and made to take stock and indulge our higher-up's fetishes for low wages for the next few years for just mentioning that such a thing exists.

Hint: even the best modders find it tedious to type out every value. Copypasting is nothing to be ashamed of. Once you get the structures down, you can do whatever you like.

Ragdollmaster wrote: THE SECRET FORUM OF SECRECY* It's not that secret. It's linked in my profile after all. I am totally not heartbroken that nobody mentioned me in this topic, no sir... T_TThe line between original mod and mod Frankenstein is pretty blurry when it comes to both ini and Lua code, since there are only so many ways to put together each of them and get working items. One of the reasons I put out all the mods I've made as CC-BY-NC, so people could build on them and make even more awesome things.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Eh, enough people have mentioned me. I haven't made mods in a while, and a good number of my mods are either proof-of-concepts or fairly small.

The Computer was nice though.
Also TLB was added, my bad. Should un-acronym-ize his name though.

What about we have a contest about the greatest new modders! We can vote for the best new modders and their small mods. I know just who to vote for! Hint: meeee

Re: The greatest modders of all time
I completely agree with contrary, but... Not the way he said it. This is a very bad idea, this thread will just turn into a flame war. You're pretty much rating people.
This thread should be closed, or possibly deleted.
