I'm having a hard time seeing them "smart". I'm wondering why they stand there and point a gun at me while I pull the trigger of my hi-laser rifle... Taking cover only delays their death... Maybe... They have fear...

I wish there was a "hate-list", as you control one unit, and kill more, it goes up the hate-list, the target switches to the guy you are controlling...

The AI is one tough nut to crack. I had a long bunker with a single winding tunnel and a Brain at the end, with guards posted at every bend. It was easy at first, shooting off the clones head as they poped into the entrance. Infact, I was so focused on the incoming Rocket soldiers that when I had relized a squad of Ronin and Coalition had tunneled into a segment of the passage and had already lead their army inside. Luckily, I had one soldier guarding the brain, and managed to pick them off one by one untill my base was clogged with bodies, including a few brave souls of my own team who tried to fend off the invaders. It was a bad victory, costing me around 2000 gold to replace all the troops and repair the bunker modules, while also killing more of the enemy.

I don't get it. The AI in CC is akin to Clear Sky's:

Sometimes it does exactly what it's supposed to, or act smart, taking cover, etc. but sometimes it just stands there, completely forgetting it's at war.

Maybe they're just taking a moment to appreciate how awesome the world of Cortex Command is.

They could be trying to think of a genuis plan to destroy the enemy brain. Or trying to bait an unsupecting player into a trap. The AI can be unpredictable, which makes the game fun.

Hrm. So I expect that the AI coalition with the rocket launcher that is behind me to continue stupidly marching towards my brain. I'm finishing the AI's in front of me, with a high power machine gun, their gibs fly to that Coalition's direction, it see it, turns around, dives and unloads a couple of rockets towards me.

Steps:
1) Rocket knocks of machine gun.
2) My guy pulls out a grenade.
3) Second rocket hits grenade.
4) Grenade Explodes.
5) Other grenades in my inventory explode.
6) Dead robot.

yay! i love that scene, it happens quite a lot now.
the rocket launcher owns hard. i dont like how the AI aim is so jittery though, and then just randomly fires. i suppose that gets the whole "innacuracy" thing going, but eh.

That's what you get when you don't put conscripts through proper boot camp. But the Coalition needs bodies, and fast...

Maybe they're shaking cuz their... uh, scared?

Wait, that makes no sense, they're brainless. Or more specifically, they all have the same brain, (mostly) safe in a bunker.

maybe the brain in the bunker is scared because all his troops are getting pwned by 1 guy out in the field by himself.
Also, the AI always did that, it was just harder to tell because they never actually aimed at you.

The AI needs to learn that scope-aiming is not the only way to fire, especially when I'm up in their face with a powerful weapon.

the AI needs to pick better drop-zones, i've built bases and the AI never gets TO my base because there on the far side of the map, and taking the LONG way around.
