There are already CC texture packs, gun mods, and of course a pie menu mod. However.. Making a Buy Menu akin to the one in CC could be difficult, as would making a way to switch bodies. I'm sure it could be possible though. I think the engine that would fit CC style would be Atomontage. And I'm only saying that for the size of the voxels, since I know nothing else about it or about CC's engine. I hope it develops into a great engine.

Atomontage, looks like a Great Engine since the Geometry is Destructible or that what the title of the vidoe says.

I like CC the way it is, IMO CC 3D would ruin the pixel art effect and, TBH, Would fall into the shooter category such as COD and MOH. I just think that we have enough COD copies and it would a bad thing if CC went 3D.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
CC is very cool with its 2d graphics but a possibly 3d one would be like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIGgUFP33fc&feature=related or even this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwtKI_Cx6Dw&feature=relatedSo I think if CC maintained its gameplay style it would be great also with a 3d visual. IMHO one of the coolest thing could be the opportunity to build underground bunkers.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
3D cc wud be dum cuz its 2d and 3d 1 wudnt be.
On a more serious note, I don't really understand why we're seriously discussing this. When the technology is finally available in around 10 years (Iff processing power doubles every 18 months consistently), I doubt that anyone is going to remember this low scale indie game, much less decide to remake it completely. It doesn't just take a bit of magical 3D powder and a little coding shazam to make a 3D version of this game; an entirely new engine would need to be coded from the ground up (Or a new engine could be used).
Cortex Command was made for the 2D platforming medium. Trying to shove it into a new mold would be pretty ugly.
Also, why did you make a thread about this? I'd love a hover car; You don't see me calling up Toyota and going "That.....would be pretty cool, man". If it's completely impractical, keep it in your head.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
Well, I'll be. However, Data Realms made no 1980s promises. Plus, we won't have the flying, flubber-powered Model-T from the Absent Minded Professor; toyota's will probably look less like a car than anything else. My point was that this game was a one shot deal. Why would Data remake this game in 3D? Even if they were to use something like Atomontage for a new game, the gameplay premises used in a 2D platformer wouldn't work in a 3D engine. I'm calling up Toyota now, by the way.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
CC would be a completely different game in 3D, personally even if they got everything right it wouldn't be as good as the 2D original.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
It'd pretty much be like your average space shooter except you can lose legs and arms and ♥♥♥♥ and blow holes in everything.
