Re: What NOT To Do In CC
Yeah, Allstone is right.
Oh also, learned this in the first modding competition: Never ramp up the emissions of laser emitters while trying to get "perfect flow", especially if they have glows and especially if you've neglected to raise their length enough.

Re: What NOT To Do In CC
On the subject of lasers, I learnt from my mod comp entry that CC particles move from place to place by short range teleportation, except when they don't feel like it and thus using thin barriers between things is not a good idea in the slightest, nor is relying on their consistency of motion.

Re: What NOT To Do In CC
Never make a lua script that spawns two new bullets every frame in the same position and velocity as the last bullet spawned.
After 6 frames, CC took up 3GB of RAM.

Never use a drop crate filled with about 500 ExtraMass 100s... especialy if the drop crate happens to be landing above your brain. NO AMOUNT OF DEPTH IS SAFE!!!

Don't let an actor you don't want to lose touch another actor for any length of time.

Don't make recursive grenades and allow CC to run for half an hour.

Re: What NOT To Do In CC
Don't throw disruptor grenades where you intend to pass through any time soon. They are excellent area denial, both to you and your enemy. Beware cutting off routes you need to use.
