Re: Concept art
I think if it's violence towards infants, it also counts as violence towards minors. But seriously, growth hormones are the way to go.

The nameless ronin soldiers can wear some face bandana or a gas mask to cover their face. Problem solved. No need for cloning tubes and gene altering. I disagree with this idea. I think that their humanity is what makes the Ronin the Ronin.

Re: Concept art
Same, contrary. I think it'd be nice to have them genericised into "Ronin Light" and "Ronin Heavy" and randomise heads/bodies/maybe armour style on the heavy.

Re: Concept art
They could do what Geti did in Zombies '09 and just make the generic soldier randomly choose Ronin heads/attachables. That would ensure individuality with all reinforcements.

Leave them as they are just add them some cannon fodderish soldier with covered face (so that we didnt see 20 Defrats or Brutuses killed on one screen)for casualty replacements, or like Joe and Geti said give them random heads.

Re: Concept art
Just give them a few faces, and a few pieces of apparel, and you get a lot of randomish schmucks to command or mow down.

This could probably work alright, and would be a lot easier to implement than the original assuming that Lua has better access in the next version.

Re: Concept art
Dude, even using attachable handling you have an insane amount of control over the randomness. You can randomise limbs by using duplicate actors and a "helper" parent actor which you buy from tradestar. See: Trenchie/Medic spawning system.

Re: Concept art
I would say that if we're going to get randomly-generated actors in any way shape or form in CC, it's probably best left to something hard-coded. It's not really all that complicated a feature anyway. If it becomes something that Promster and Data want in the game, I'm sure it won't be left up to somewhat hacky Lua functions to take care of it

Hahah, true that. Someone prod them and see if they think it's a good ide- wait we're posting in a thread one of them reads! This genuinely is a new phenomenon, I like it.

Re: Concept art
Ronin seem more like they should be story mission specific and Buyable = 0 by default. I mean, if you can buy them from Tradestar, that sort of defeats the point.

Re: Concept art
I don't like the idea of the Tradestar at all. I like to think that Coalition is the force that controls the universe and it uses clones to fight aliens etc.
Kind of like the Imperium of Man in Warhammer 40k.
Dummies are... well, dummies that rebelled after getting frustrated at being used as target practice.
Ronins are rebels who just don't like the Coalition being a tyrant.

Re: Concept art
I don't really think that Prom is going to be terribly interested in our not particularly original suggestions in terms of the canon which he has to pretty much create.
