It took me a lot of practice to get very good at it, and I got it waaay before there was a tutorial, so there was a much steeper learning curve. But I kept with it and got into it with my friend, playing multiplayer for hours on end at his house, and we managed to get VERY good at it. Multiplayer is definitely the best way to learn the game, as there aren't any enemies that are actually out to kill you unless you've actually figured out how to fight.

I don't know. I have managed to at least slow my decent, and hover for half a second.
MUST
TRY
HARDER.

I will be good at CC!

(I got good after the first week or so, it was not really too hard to learn. To get really good takes a month or two.

I have been playing since build 12 or 13 so I never learned how to use the mouse properly so it took me around a week to get over it...then they made rockets exsplode so that was a month tho get good at...and now with the weaker jet packs I have to say I will never master the damn thing...

To be honest I can't even imagine playing with just a keyboard. I can play with a touchpad but that's pretty hard for me.

i got over the learning curve pretty fast... it took some time of course, i started in b23 with the demo i loved the demo and decided buy the game. then since i was able to spend time in the game rather than a few minutes i got into the game mechanics of buying and selling, building bunkers, ordering my forces to attack and defend, and mining. i managed to be able to fly rockets well since one of my Favourite classic games was lunar lander (although every once in awhile a rocket falls on a soldier or the engines decapitate someone) and my bunker designs where pretty basic. ordering units to attack was a heart ache since they keep shooting each other (cant wait for that to be fixed in b27) or do that annoying thing where they look one way then you try to make them look the other way but then they just turn around again (annoying as F**k) and then there was mining honestly that wasn't to hard since i play minecraft but it got annoying when you where over encumbered and couldn't get out of that hole.

i was able to learn fast but my friends didn't. but my brother was good at the game (able to kick my ass) but my friends need more time. i find the secret to getting them interested in the game is not to get them to play the tutorial mission but instead do a scenario where its you vs your friend (go easy on your friend). cause that jet pack hallway in tutorial mission seems to be to hard for them. also to get them used to buying units make sure they use something like a drop-ship or drop-crate or if you have the advanced bunker modules mod get them to use the teleporter that teleports the bought units to the platform. also its fun to do a thing called squad warfare where what you do is buy a brain then a gun and that's all. then when the game starts you then buy all you're units (this will also get you're friends used to buying stuff and transporting them via rocket, drop-ship, or drop-crate)

About 3-4 days. Though I've only once beat dummy assault. How are you ment to beat it anyway? There's a bloody dummy at every turn!

Only a few hours to get used to basic controlls and all features.
DropCrates filled with grenades and bombs was one of a few first ideas to try ingame.
But controlling rokets took a while to understand.
And completed Maginot on a fifth try or something like this, but i was messing around in tutorial mission for 2 hours or so beforehand.

I admit I spent my first ten games or so trying to figure out where the enemy brain was so I could introduce it to the nose cone of the rocket you started out with in that map that I think was called Promgrounds.

I got in around B18; being so used to the older methods of jetpacking makes it hard to get anywhere now you can't burst jet. That method still works for rockets so I'm pretty bloody good at flying them.

Moving actors around on foot has to be my weakness. I have a b*stard of a time trying to get them to climb ledges, ladders and even just crawl around. About the only thing I'm good at with actors is crash-diving into cover when something like a Dreadnought opens fire.

There wasn't really much of a learning curve, just getting the feel for the actors and weapons, what kind of things work and what fails spectacularly. Probably one of the most important things to learn is multi-tasking attack, defense, gold mining and buying reinforcements. Half the trick to beating Dummy Assault is having a second attack waiting in the wings and at least some kind of defense. Focusing on getting one man in is a sound strategy for a quick win, but you have to be ready to respond if it goes pear-shaped.

Learning Curve you say? If it was there i would say something important but well this game doesn't have a learning curve.

Ahahaha wow man are you for real?

CC's learning curve is pretty damn steep, although not as bad as Dwarf Fortress.
