The answer is that it doesn't.
If you're seeing performance changes then I don't know what to tell you, perhaps your computer contains some kind of perpetual motion machine?
Increasing the resolution causes more drain on your GPU, reducing your resolution causes less drain on your GPU and has no detrimental effect to your CPU.
It is not a means by which to allocate work balance between one and the other as you seem to believe, increasing the resolution just creates extra work.

I'd advise you to check your resolution theory again more closely, I am pretty certain that you will find that increasing the resolution actually negatively impacts your computer's performance.
If you require more proof I'd be pretty happy to demonstrate it myself.

Oh well, i think i failed. You are correct. I have redone the test and yeah it decreased the performance. But the problem why it showed better fps is because i have set my nvidia graphic card as my physix processor (it used to be CPU)...

I apologize

NO NO NO NO NO. The nvidia physix core does absolutely nothing for CC's performance. Unless off coarse you were playing another game at the same time which uses physix. Cortex Command is Physics based, where physics is the English word used to describe the science behind how pretty much anything moves. Whereas Physix is a word made up by Nvidia to promote their extra processor in a GPU idea, which is not capable of doing anything other than things that are made for it.

That is to say, PhysX can only be used on games that are specifically coded to use it. Cortex is not one of those.

I know, I know. I was testing that on fallout 3 and yeah i think that was the reason why it boosted up my performance so much
