Re: The greatest modder of all time
you dont understand. when you say someones the best, you're saying that everyone you didn't label as "the best" is just second rate. that is just a big slap in the face to people's hard work.
i hope you get ♥♥♥♥ with the business end of a rake with lube

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Contrary there, being his typical friendly self.
The word modder is now plural to clear that little discrepancy up. We're being nice in this thread, people.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Contrary, the point of a forum is to discuss things. By posting about a game in the Gaming section, you are not saying that all other games suck. By complimenting a mod, you are not saying that all the other mods suck. By voting for a mod in the contest, you are not saying every other entry sucks. While I'll admit that this isn't the most useful thread, it was by no means deserving of this hate you seem to have developed for it. Nor was it necessary of you to send in a report saying that it's a "♥♥♥♥ gay thread" (and just a hint to everyone else, that's never necessary). You do nothing but spread vitriol around the forums like some kind of a sick, angry little Johnny Appleseed. Have a nice ban, but before you go: Contrary wrote: contrary you are a stinky poo-toucher

Re: The greatest modders of all time
I think it was caekdaemon who had a CaveCricket quote in his sig where he said he had no clue about Lua.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
In my opinion, people who did amazing things with ini modding around build 12 were the champions of CC modding.

Aw, I am in the list of worst posters. Why am I even there? I joined when I was a really dumb kid and did stupid stuff, but don't you guys think I have improved?

Zalo was a god back in B22... It's a shame he doesn't get more recognition...

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Truly one of the best mods of all time. Bringing in a new concept along with executing it perfectly.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Favourite modders? Let's see now... - Capnbubs (Crobotech, nuff said) - Darlos9D (Darkstorm, insane Lua shenanigans and what not) - Numgun (As much flaming as he has attracted, his factions are A+ in my book) - CaveCricket (SO MUCH LUA) - Abdul (Also some amazing Lua) - Amrobotics (Epic INI stuff, PANZOR and all that awesomeness, a damn shame he isn't active any more) - TLB (Forumwide Banana Machines oh my goodness i love you so much) - Zalo (Flying laser sharks) In no particular order. It's very likely that i forgot someone, since there are so many great modders around here, and my memory is rather selective. Also, massive thanks to you few who listed me. Feels good man.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
Man, Contrary likes to be contrary. ....GUFFAW Anyway, he does have a point, and this should just be a "list your favorite modders" topic, if anything, but given that it's turned out to be that already, I think it's probably all okay.
(Contrary, they'll probably hate me for encouraging you or whatever, but I find that your sense of sarcasm is absolutely lovely. Just thought I'd express my appreciation)
I love DarkStorm (Darlos9D), CroboTech (capnbubs), and most of Numgun's stuff for factions. All polished, fun ♥♥♥♥ with intriguing concepts.
Whitty and Shook make my favorite collections of random ♥♥♥♥ (and yes, Whitty was mostly likely high at the time, whereas I think Shook just has some crazy awesome ideas whether he's high or not)
In terms of scripting, CaveCricket, Abdul, Darlos9D, and akblabla have made some of the most popular and successful mods.
As for the newbie modders, it's not any more difficult to make mods now; if anything, it's waaaaay easier. However, we just have higher standards now than then. Suck it up and keep trying. You'll get it eventually.

Re: The greatest modders of all time
The fact that CC has become easier to mod has globally improved the standard of modding so that the expectations of the community are at a greater level than ever before, right?

Re: The greatest modders of all time
There are a number of greatest modders of all time but unfortunately that number is all soooo great that I find it intimidating to start writing names here.
-AmRO (PANZOOOOOOORR!!!) -Aaronlee (Emporeans+) -Cooljosmith (EAF+) -Whitty (WWW+) -MDC (MDCorps+) -Gotcha (Fallout mod+) -Numgun (BWmercs O.o) -Capnbubs (Crobos O.o) -Naxete (HR+, ridable mechs O.o) -CaveCricket48 (every little mod but VED O.o and Grappling gun O.o) -Lowestformofwit (Nurses O.o, Dummy BEhemoth <3 and dummy Factory O.o) -Methelina (Fishers and D9 mod...I still can't believe that she could make it so similar to the film O.o) -DSMK (Puniceus and RSM robotic units and weaponry+) -Finndude (Zombots O.o and the Nano Rifle <3) -Carriontrooper (Cordyc and SET+) -Squeegy Mackpy (RETARDS+) ...and many others in pursuit of greatness...
In fact every single modder is great for me because I paid for this little devil of a game and I wouldn't even play it after a week if not for the big and small, clever and stupid, etc. mods people are making here when I, myself cannot even mod ♥♥♥♥. This thread should be taken as encouraging rather than despairing. Anyone can mod better (than me).
Culthero's ranking system: <3 : Love this mod from the heart. O.o : OMG! AWESOME! + : A+, the mod is approved and is a timeless faction. PANZOOOOOOORRR!!!: PANZOOOOOOORRR!!!

I've been mentioned and I've only released one and a quarter mods.
I love you all <3
