Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
Googled a random forum name, got a link to a forum, browsed through the forum, found a post about the game on a list of random CC games.
Coincidentally that is pretty much what got me into the whole indie scene and about the only time I've really "run into" CC accidentally online.
So if it weren't for a string of coincidences you'd all be deprived of Grif.

I can think of so many ways to flame you to death in response to that. But that would get me banned. So I won't.
ONTOPIC: So most of us got here by accident? That's weird... I'd think people would just get introduced by a friend of a friend of a friend... (2 million years later)... of a friend of a friend of Data.

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
It happened during my military conscript training. I had a MacBook + 3G cell phone (for internet tethering) in there.
Heard about the game somewhere. I think somebody posted a link to a youtube video or something? Unfortunately, there wasn't a Mac version yet, so I couldn't try it, but I heard there was a Mac port coming sometime in the future. I checked the Dev Log from time to time for the off chance it would have been released.
A couple of months later (very near the end of training, when there is very little to do, especially for a conscript NCO), I was surfing the internet in the barracks in complete boredom (no more new movies left on the laptop. nothing...) and happened to check the Data Realms Dev Log and saw the Mac release. I just bought it without even trying it first. The rest of the days in there went a lot faster :p

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
It was purely accidental. Browsing through one of those download sites, and found a link to CC. Around build 19/20, I think. I downloaded the game, discovered how awesome it was, and it kept me in a state of pure happyness for about a month. I was starting to get tired of the game by then, but I discovered that it could be easily modded and entered the forums. This drove me to a state of pure happyness that has not yet ended. EDIT: And, mind you, I don't think that it will end anytime soon.

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
Some time on the 4chan /v/ board... I think the post said something like, "Okay /v/, what do you do to your enemies?" And a post reading, "I CRUSH THEM" had the gif posted of the two clone troops on the rooftop getting pulverized by the flying rocket. After seeing such glorious sprites and gibs, and the rocket obliterating into a hundred pieces, I knew that I must have this game.

I came on it randomly.
I think that was back when Data Modules were created.

Hurr hurr I'm amused by sexual innuendos - We all find it funny, but not enough to post.

Saw a .gif of Shook's on a message board around, oh, I think B14 maybe (back in like March of '07). Didn't join the forums till a while later, though.

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
I was serving on the Soldat forums. I got linked here from a thread about a list of fun free games. That's was back in B21. Immediately fell in love with this game.

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
My friend (Falcon X) told me about it about a year and a half ago, during B20. I got addicted, bought it, and have been playing it almost constantly ever since.

Re: How did you find Cortex Command?
Googled "Physics games" which brought me to fun-motion. Saw the thread on the forums, thought it looked cool, did a little digging, and found Data Realms.
