I'd expect that they don't recognize them because there rounds, not TDE's, even though they are still just TDE's with a new name slapped on top. at least thats how I think it works. I still havent looked at the grenade launcher / rocket launcher ini's.

They could still recognize them as rounds and respond. Except the AI doesn't seem to actually respond to bullets unless they get hit sorta hard or take damage.

so if you shoot a grenade, and they don't get hit, they wont care, but if one of them EXPLODES, they'll stay away from there.
If I where a zombie, and a orange brick flew past my head, and fell in a hole. I wouldn't care. if 3 seconds later "something" exploded and I didn't know what, I wouldn't care as long as it didn't explode me.
Therefor, I , with my brain-eating-zombie-brain, wouldn't associate the two. I would ignore flying orange bricks.

...and when your sniper gets scared by a threat 2 screens away, he crouches, falling into the oblivion below. Still, the aproaching enemy is a tad harder to drop since they crouch. And just flying over them doesn't usually fool them.

Amen, and now that they wield grenades, eh... the blood is going to fly on both sides now, and final statement, the reaction is like that of MGS, so I'm going to guess that someone will make a MGS mission. Do they actually use grenades if they have a main gun? I love how suppressing fire acutally works now, it's amazing. That said, data should give us a suppressing fire command in the pie menu, we place a marker in a certain spot just like with the goto command, but the AI stands where it is and maintains fire on that location.

Playing against the AI much more fun in build 22.
However, I'm having problems with the mining AI, when given a digger the clone just sort of stands there and twitch while firing the digger wildly into the air.

Auto digging appears to have been disabled.

From what I understand about the ai is:
- They can be distracted by explosions because they will look back at them.
- They will duck for cover from heavy fire and rockets.
- They are dumb on my side.
- They will try to sneak around your units if they can tell where your units are facing (they did that before).

rawr what azukki said. it is rather funny though. they should probably dodge large gibs aswell. hopefully the AI just keeps getting better and better. im still loving the new AI. even if they do have a tendancy to try and make grenade funnels for me.

I don't like how they have .0000001 reaction times. I die WAY to much. Also, what's with the rockets? They just spam my bases! How do I make them only spawn in dropships. Back on track, They do work more like a team in spamming my bases. And they have godlike range so they can kill you with a pistol 13291623762189 miles away.

Maybe you should send in the abductor every once in a while to thin out their numbers.

Re: Does the AI try to avoid death hotspots, or line of fire?
or get better at shooting. if the AI kills you with a pistol from that far away you must be playing on a pretty flat map, plus be a terrible player. to make things only spawn in dropships, edit your activities.ini and replace the rocket code (ACRocket) with ACDropship and replace Rocket MK1 with Dropship MK1 and Dummy Dropship. learn to mod properly.

Re: Does the AI try to avoid death hotspots, or line of fire?
I love the new AI.
Every now and then, my actor randomly dies. I'm like "wtf mannnn" then I look around and see the enemy walking right where my dead body is.
Activities edits + new AI = win

Re: Does the AI try to avoid death hotspots, or line of fire?
I wish I could control more then one AI at once, so I could have one heavy guy in front with a shield and auto-shotty and a light guy in back with a rocket launcher.
