well kinda... something very similar anyhow... it was a turn based game where you would move armies of 2d people around(drawing, erasing and redrawing), on various interconnected pieces of A4 paper. every scene connected.. it ended up being VERY big...so basically each person would draw their base, and then have points to spend on moving units and even less to spend on creating them. moving was with rulers and combat was with dice(a simple highest role wins affair) . hmm since this is getting convoluted im going to turn it into a list:

• objective was to destroy other persons generator.
• had flying island battleships too! (destroy one and it crashes onto ground below...so fun to redraw...same island but all crashed and destroyed-like )
• had ships too(with interiors on separate little bits of paper.) which could crash if you destroyed them.
• you could dig (in certain increments with rulers)
• everyone could create their own style of army, but all had same classes(soldier, heavy, flying etc).
• doors would go to other pieces of paper in their own little rooms.

I used to play something like it too!
But it was more like an RTS style. In fact, we named it Age of Papers. It was damn awesome.

oh hey that looks interesting... combine that with cc and x-com and you have something....
and thats made me think...in reality out of cc and picture wars style games, which is truly more interactive? i think cc has way less interactivity than it could have. too many guns and unbalanced gameplay mean it's not simple in the right way and it's not complicated in the right way... it's some awkward place in the middle. ...yet still it's an amazing game.

I never really made a game out of it, but I certainly drew shitloads of scenes like that.

Yeah! Mine was more RTS style, and we called it "War Chess" but it had no real correlation with chess whatsoever. A lot of erasers were killed in the making.

Back in middle school I did this with friends. They would actually try to pay me money for an in-game advantage.

Hint: use whiteboards and those markers that come off. The only downside is that your fingers turned black after a while.

i remmbure doing stuff like this, that was so long ago but i started to draw things like this then created a game for me and my friends where we had 2 underground bases which would fight never really was that good mainly because the amount of paper lost in battle.

Yeah! I remember that once with some friends we drew a large map on a whiteboard and used toy soldiers and paper boats to play.

Ah, the old days.
