Post Mod recommendations?
Recently I've been trawling through the mods section of this forum looking for any interesting fan-made content. While there is plenty of good stuff, the vast majority of it is insanely overpowered. Giant nigh-indestructible robots, guns that splatter everything in one shot, and so on and so forth.

So... are there any mods out there that feature good content (vanilla quality or close to it) that is reasonably balanced when compared to the standard actors/craft/weapons etc?

Thanks.

PS. Wasn't sure which forum to put this in.

Try:
Darkstorm
Crobos (Requires minor tinkering to make work)
Bear Federation (May require tinkering)
Emporeans
Kloveska

Also note that gold cost is a part of balancing, meaning many of the things you refer to are only intended to be played against similar opposition measured in gold cost. For example, an MPAM - costing 3000 gold, should, in actual play, be countered by 3000 gold worth of other troops; for example - 10 Coalition Heavies with RPGs.

I'd have to say that these are some of the better ones. ;)

In the last build, Bears and Moosecorp were pretty balanced (Bears were a little OP, due to their inexpensive bear units and armored tanks, but largely viable.)
I only use Vanilla now.

Any of the mods I made. MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

... Not really. Most of my stuff is insanely overpowered or hardly usable. These are the ones I usually play with:

- Vault-tec
- AAL ( the older versions )
- Unitec
- Darkstorm
- Crobotech
- Metal Slug Tanks

and so on. But these are the main ones I can remember.

Zalo....

XD, anyway, like what they say. UniTec, VaultTec, Emporeans, Bear Fed are all very balanced. If you don't use the stealth ability of the shinobi, Darkstorm is also quite balanced.

I recommend Geti's zombie mod. The sprites are just amazing, I wonder who drew them...

To my credit, the Behemoth was originally designed/intended to be a boss bot in a mission, and is also very destructible.

Also, most felt that my Contest Entry was fairly balanced as well.

As for other vanilla-level stuff, the above posters have taken care of most of that.

The Paramedics are both pretty balanced, and extremely well sprited, particularly the hat.

That said, my weekend mod contest entry was fairly balanced.

DSTech is badass. Or, at least it was back when it was stupidly broken.

AAL and Darkstorms are both extremely awesome. AAL is the overpowered kind that should only be pit against other overpowered factions, while Darkstorms is fairly well balanced (Unless you use the Shinobi's phasing).
GET BOTH.
