Pause in game, instead of pause to menu
I think for Single Player Vs AI battles we need to be able to pause while we purchase units and give commands. There is a giant variety of guns and bodies, and you just dont have time to consider which ones to get early in the game, and scrolling through them all we often take enough time for the AI to spam units at you and land you in trouble.
In short, give an ingame pause like FTL has.

Also in game pause can be useful for taking nice screenshots

+1 this idea. Sometimes it's really fun to try to play without shooting people yourself and simply outfitting and maneuvering little squads.

i personally think that in game pausing would be a great idea! if it is going to be implemented it would be nice if it was a player toggled pause so the player chooses when they want to do a in-game pause. so when they press the designated pause key like the P key or any other key of the players choosing it pauses the game. i think this would highly benefit the use of screen shots because i find that when you have a fast computer everything that happens in the game goes by so fast that by the time you press the screen shot key you are to late.
also this would be good for commanding units, i find that using the "brain hunt" and "go to" commands take some time to press. because of this my attempted organized assaults quickly turn into a waste of resources because since it takes time to order each guy they are all attacking at different times so my 5 guy assault quickly turns into 1 guy being brutally murdered by enemy defenses. however if i could pause the game and order them while it is paused i could get them all to attack at the same time creating a 5 man rush rather than a 1 at a time man failure.
