Strike squad
i don't think anyone have mentioned it before. ( i'm reading this server since yesterday night. ) First of all, Sorry for my bad english. i've studied it all by myself, no school-help.
So, i think the only thing who " ruin " the campaign is that when you attack a zone you begin with only a Brain and a turret. i think, it will be better, after you've got your first base up ( so conquered a place) to have the possibility to organize a strike group (or a first squad to land) on other zone, like a Brains, 2 clones With assault rifle etc etc.
No? i don't like the thing that when i have 4-5 zones, i still attack a new one with only a mere brain and a turret.

Re: Strike squad
Impressive english for just learning yourself.
It's a bit hard to understand but I think I know where you're coming from, I agree that if you have somewhat 0-2 zones conquered then attacking an enemy zone should start you off with not much, and then something like 3-5 zones and you get a couple units with you as well.
I think that the whole income per zone aquired might be just as much though, since the money you put in the assault gives you just enough for an ongoing assault.
It's something to think about though.

Re: Strike squad
you begin the game with a single brain and a turret ( is a turret, Right?) the first step of a campaign it's to conquer a zone full of Gold. Settle a Bunker, and after this attack another zone. The problem i mentioned before is that : Seems strange that from the bunker the only thing you can " send " to assault a enemy base is a Brain. imoh, if the enemy have some very fast troop it will became impossible to conquer the region, because it will kill you before you can make a single unit land.

Re: Strike squad
Yeah it's pretty easy to make a spot impossible to attack. Maybe landing should be preceded by a certain amount of carpet bombing? Not a perfect solution but may help.

Re: Strike squad
I love the idea of first-strike units. Having the option to collate a vanguard squad in the same (or even separate) dropships would be awesome.

I really think that having the AA Drone as your first actor with your brain isn't a good idea at all. The dropship should come with the brain and two troopers (ideally chosen and pre-equipped by the player, if not picking the "Default" (for additional bulk) and "Grenadier" (to replace the AA Drone) ones from the loadouts).

Re: Strike squad
I'd really like to be able to make some presets before the battle starts, because twiddling with the buy screen while the AI stumbles its way down your gold hole does not make me very happy.

I ran into the same problem with the AI campaign. I pretty much win every match since all you need to do is setup a half decent screen of soldiers on the ground and it's impossible to land a drop ship anywhere. I feel like the worlds need to be much larger horizontally as well as include a setup phase for your initial insertion team. It would be nice if you could do things like use drop pods with an assault team on heavily defended worlds.
