[Suggestion] - Multiple Planets
I was just thinking earlier that there could be added an option for multiple planets in the campaign. Each planet would be assigned a list of maps instead of having one planet.
This would be less useful for the game itself, but awesome for mods, and mod compatibly, which B27 has some problems with right now.
AKA: A planet with all the maps in a certain map-pack. If you want to use those maps, you select that planet.
EDIT: The planet the map appears on should be defined in the map files, not the planets files. So mod creators with one map can just assign that single map to the default planet.

Considering the entire story line revolves around the one planet being the only gold-rich one that has been discovered in the galaxy.. I doubt it. Maybe if the source code is released, there could be a multi-planet mod, but otherwise I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Or we could simply edit Planet.bmp to look like multiple planets.

No no, you misunderstand. You could have multiple planets in the same single image, like... a picture of an entire solar system, and then set the battleground coordinates to fit the planets displayed.

I meant having different SINGLE planets you could choose between.
So you could have a mod-pack, and then you could select the planet for the mod-pack and play on that one instead of the default. That way there would be more space for mods to work without vanilla content getting in their way.
I get the impression that you thought I meant fighting inside a solar system of planets. Not what I meant.

Yeah, the different planets would have maps that are assigned to that specific planet. So if a modmaker was to make an ice planet it could have all ice themed maps.

Fighting on the moon would be pretty cool, and that could easily be positioned alongside the planet in the mission selection screen.
Weegee (I think) already did some awesome lunar maps. Some canon lunar maps would be kickass.

That was Gotcha, not weegee. Weegee makes scripted missions, not just scenes.
