Recommended Mods?
What mods would you guys recommend for Cortex Command? I've just recently installed it because I was getting tired of just seeing a game on my game list that hasn't been installed, or let alone tried. Well I can tell already from playing Dummy Assault and Chip Hunt that the game needs something... extra. Like modifications. I'll be willing to try any modifications towards Cortex Command as long as they don't give me a virus Oh and uh, hai thar, I'm new.

Re: Recommended Mods?
Try Unmapped Lands under Scene Releases. It's a very good game mode. It's like the MetaGame, but it works better (mainly because the MetaGame is in early alpha!). But there are many good mods out there; just look around and you'll find interesting stuff.

Question, will mods meant for earlier builds, like Build 23, work with the newest build, [Build 26]?

Re: Recommended Mods?
It actually depends on the mod. Most mods that won't work are for referencing vanilla stuff, which would simply need renaming some items or changing path files to the vanilla things that were moved, which is an easy fix.
But some old mods might not use references for vanilla stuff (for example, AAL) and will work with the current build.
Try to see if they work, if they don't, you can ask for help here and I'll tell you what the fix should be.

Re: Recommended Mods?
il be nice but since grif is away I have to say this please use the search next time but other than that all mods are good just depends on what you like , I personally think balance is a stupid restriction on fun for the moment, since we don't have a complete universe yet, but some balanced mods are awesome, just get what you like and have fun.

Re: Recommended Mods?
This is a completely opinionated topic, Nicolas. There are no preceding topics that have any effect on this very topic, and if there are they are very old, outdated, and won't work with B26. He can't search for 'good mods', or anything similar; as almost all mod topics have at least one post saying something good about the mod.
By the way telling everyone to search, while still important to do, generally makes you come off as an ass because half the time it's a new member of the forum who knows little to nothing, knows no members, and goes off of first impressions, making you one the new member may try to avoid or even hate for something 'rude' you did earlier.
Anyways, welcome to the best goddamn forum you will ever see! There's a lot of nice people here AND the game is actually pretty good too. Hope you have a good time bro.

Re: Recommended Mods?
Telling people to search is good and all, but only if it's a topic you can actually search and get reliable info.
A topic from three years ago wouldn't know what fun mods exist today.

Re: Recommended Mods?
I have been corrected sorry Shootemout still the best mods depend on your tastes, find out what you like by downloading some, have fun, here is a couple that I always keep in my CC folder Unitec (just so AWESOME) Hydro plus (only working water mod its pretty sweet) Pixel Generator (old mod) Mobility (just so that you can mess about with the lua) AAL (giant mechs are so awesome) DSTech (same reason) there are many many others out there though, so just have fun exploring the forums, and welcome.

Re: Recommended Mods?
almost anything with more than 2 pages (unless it's a recent post then do check it out)
but if you're looking for the best balanced ones then it can be hard.
the ones i currently would suggest for balanced is darkstorm, unitec, Wehrmacht, Vault-tec Pelian army the dummy behemoth , dummy expansion and maybe the warhammer 40,000 mod (although that may just be my fanboy talking)
as for general blow and shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything types mod, Then most of what nicolas suggested as well as anything Whitty made (if your pc can handle the glow)

Re: Recommended Mods?
Thanks towards everybody that posted I've went a bit overboard with the mods downloading and my Cortex Command is now uh... 5GB. Which for me is a lot, considering I started out with <200MiB and my external hard drive only holds about 20GB LordVonKain wrote: almost anything with more than 2 pages (unless it's a recent post then do check it out)

Respawning sides, you know like enemies keep coming out so that you don't have to keep restarting the map to fight more enemies 2. Hard to reach brains, so that when one side is getting dominated, the AI has a hard time destroying the brain. 3. A large map I've tried block wars but I can't intervene otherwise one side dominates the other and it kills the brain. Plus the map is really... How should I put this... Smaller than a [insert really racist joke here] Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommended Mods?
All of Weegee's missions are top notch.
Also, nice avatar. B&W 1 was soooo much better than B&W 2.

Re: Recommended Mods?
The Wehrmacht, SAW and EDV are very good.
@LFoW: The creature is sooooo Goddamn annoying in B&W 1.
