Oh what a bummer.
Things like that happen so often one could actually post an entire topic just on that(no im not ganna be the one who will post that topic).

Tho if one had the option would you want such freak projectiles be disabled? Will it take away the unexpectedness of cc? Or will is save allot of actors asses (rhetorical since the answer is undeniably obvious).

Did a clean install recently, and finished it with just the people you start with, and 2 more soldiers ordered in (default loadout).
When my brain could move, I was down to a single Light, with the SMG and medium digger. The enemies had reached the vertical shaft at the end of the vault room.
An accident with horizontal jetpacking resulted in my clone dying, dropping the digger and destroying the SMG.
My brain dug a tunnel from the brain vault, to nearly where the concrete bridge ends. The dummies headed me off, so I needed to take a chance and dig straight up. Took out a dummy above me, managed to fly to the roof without getting shot, and escaped.
Next up: Doing it without ordering anything.

Hi all - this is my first post, just because this is the level that's bugging me.

A little reading has boosted my confidence that I can get it done. I've had endless fun and frustration in attempting to complete this mission, and must agree with the OP - it is hard!

Then again, having only discovered CC a couple of days ago and purchased a license yesterday, I only really played properly for a couple of hours last night. Perhaps I should go easier on myself.

Of several attempts, in just one I managed as far as getting my brain bot to the evacuation platform, only to have the rocket knocked off course on its way down by a craaaazy, flying dummy, pitching side-long into the platform in a shower of flaming debris. What does boiled brain smell like, I wonder - I presume the jar is filled with liquid?

I tried tunnelling out on another attempt as the enemy had taken it upon themselves to start digging into the brain chamber from the right, and the corridors above were looking thoroughly congested. I expected the soldier in the lower-left barricade to slow invaders from the left a little, but as soon as they started falling from above, he fired his ridiculously heavy weapon into the barrier and showered the invading dummies with his own body parts. Still, the dummies were held back in the narrow confines of my escape tunnel for a while by one legless soldier, and I felt a glimmer of hope as I evaded a dummy digging team on the left side of the base by dropping crab crates on their heads.

It was only as my brain popped out and prepared to fly to safety that a drop-ship exploded directly above... another death by immolation. Did the AI engineer this event, or am I just THAT unlucky?!?

Okay, so I've got a lot more practice to get in, but I can see me finding a solution, and possibly even without calling in reinforcements... but I don't really care anyway, as it is just so much fun to play. I've never enjoyed losing so much in my life!

I'm sure it has already been mentioned, but a ton of crabs in a crate is not just cheap and fairly effective, but a whole lotta' fun! I laughed hard!

Um... that's all.

Unlucky, I'm afraid.
The AI is too stupid to even walk forward when firing a digger at your face, mere millimetres out of range.

Dropship doors are a notorious randumb killer. When a dropship on the floor, upside down explodes, the doors will fly at ~45 degree angle, giving them insane range and speed. Added to the fact they are massy, and strong enough to destroy anything they crash into, it's not rare to have one headshot you out of the blue.

Hehe - the question was rhetorical, really, but it's more fun to consider many of these random events, and physics anomalies, deliberate actions. The dummy that flew into my escape rocket was unlikely to have been attempting a rocket-propelled, flying kamikaze head-butt, but the hilarious result was convincing.

While the controls can be a little frustrating and the AI can be absurd, the randomness of events are definitely part of the charm; what in real life is truly predictable, especially in the heat of battle? :)

With so much dead stuff flying around some of it is ought to cause chaos.
