Mods are not installing
Please don't flame me, I read the sticky in the mod forum, watched the video, and have spent over an hour trying the normal way and with some of the mod loaders people uploaded. I'm either doing something really stupid or there is some kind of problem. I have also tried uninstalling everything and redoing it. I have a registered copy of the game if that matters.
I have tried using DStech and Darkstorm. I extracted the winrar file into my CC directory. In my CC directory I have the folder with each respective mod name "Darkstorm.rte" and "DStech.rte". When I run the .exe it opens fine, but judging from the initializing messages it doesn't look like the mods are actually loading (though it goes too fast for me to be able to tell).
When I start a skirmish only the base weapons and actors are available.
I appreciate any help and sorry to bring up a question that seems to be asked a lot, though I honestly did exactly what I'm supposed to :/

Re: Mods are not installing
When you open up one of the mod folders, is there another one of the same name inside it?

Re: Mods are not installing
No, there are just folders such as "D7SniperRifle" "Graphics" etc. And then there are the .ini files such as "effects", "sounds", "wounds" etc.
These are all directly in DarkStorm.rte there are no sub-folders.
edit: Also if this helps, using the exact same method I am using to install mods, when I install scenes they work fine with no problem.
Is there some kind of console command I can use to manually load the mod from within the game?
Okay I just tried Pelian mod and it worked fine, I don't know what was wrong with the other mods.

Re: Mods are not installing
Even if you don't start them from there the mod thingy will not allow some mods to play, make sure you check them all on that program and your fixed.

what you have to do is make a new folder and rename it EXACTLY what the broken .rte's title is, including the .rte suffix.
take the contents of the broken .rte and put them in the new one.
delete the broken .rte folder, then put the new one in your cortex folder, it should work now. This is how you fix it
