Here's what I think happened:

1. Your Maps-Objects folder is ready for archiving.
2. IE didn't actually do what it was meant to.

"Ready for archiving"? What do you mean?

Granted that IE didn't do what it was supposed to, what then? When I follow the instructions in the Readme, it just makes CC unplayable.

Right click your folder, then click properties. Click advanced. Untick 'Ready for Archiving'.

^^This.

When it makes CC unplayable, it's actually looking for a file that it can't find because of it.

I don't have a folder called "Maps-Objects". What's the actual name of the folder, pray tell?

*EDIT*

If you meant Base.rte/Scenes, that's one's already unticked.

*EDIT*

Found "Maps-Objects", but it was already unticked :(

Okey-dokey, I figured it out. For whatever reason, extracting the file to "/Cortex Command" caused the entire file to insert itself inside another folder that was NOT a .rte. I pulled all the .rtes out of that folder and put them alongside the other .rtes, inserted the line into Scenes.ini, and now it's working.

Your readme tipped me off: the FAQ mentioned a bunch of .rtes showing up in the main folder, and I realized I didn't see any. Huh. :grin:

Argh, I keep on having some sort of Problem that no matter how many times I read the readme, it DOES NOT SOLVE. I have read the readme, not renamed the Maps - Object folder, Put the line in, and no matter how many times I re-download/Re-do everything, It stops here: http://oi56.tinypic.com/2lbde7d.jpg And just aborts. I don't know what else to do.

Same problem I always have when I try to run this.

I stuck the line in my Scenes.ini, btw.

Quote:
Abortion in file .\System\Reader.cpp, line 534, because:

Failed to open included data file in Base.rte/Scenes.ini at line 95!

The last frame blablabla

I imagine this is what it's talking about. Copy paste from Scenes.ini where I stuck the line of code:

Quote:
////////////////////////////
// Bunker Modules!

IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/BunkerModules/BunkerModules.ini
IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/Tutorial Objects/TutorialBunker.ini
IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/BunkerBits/BunkerBits.ini
IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/Geology/Geology.ini
IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/Scripted/Scripted Objects.ini
IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes/Objects/BunkerModules/Craft Docking Systems.ini
IncludeFile = Maps - Objects/Index.ini

////////////////////////////////////////////////

What do I do? :???:

Post Re: Map Pack 3 B24 v1.0.2
OK, I just recently bought a new computer and installed B24 on it. When I put the map pack in it, I started getting problems similar to the ones others are experiencing. This did not happen on my other computer, which had previously had B23 installed on it.

This has led me to believe that the map pack has some B23 dependencies (I.E. Sometimes it crashes because it is missing some sort of concrete base module in Base.rte, whenever I disable the map pack everything is back to normal) that did not make it into B24, so installing B23 then installing B24 over it should fix whatever the problems are.

Just a guess on my part though, I still have yet to try this as I am searching for my B23 installer.

No. It would cause you way more problems than it would fix. This map pack is B24 compatible, and any errors you are having are being caused by some other issue (maps - objects not in correct location, indexd, etc.).

Yeah, I already know it is B24 compatible, I'm the one who converted them, but it was working fine on my old computer in which I installed B24 over a B23 installation and now it doesn't work on a fresh B24 installation, it is giving me errors that things are missing in Base.rte.

If it doesn't work on a fresh B24 installation and gives Base.rte errors, it means that you've screwed up.

This was EXACTLY the same problem I had the first time I installed it on a fresh B24.
I only had that problem.

So that needs to be fixed on the download.

Okay, I have searched this forum for hours and i can't find an answer anywhere, so I'm asking here.

What do I use to load your maps? I can see in some youtube videos that when people click on campaign/scene selection a gui pops up asking for a number of
players and letting them pic a map etc...

Where do I find that? I have your maps installed fine, and I can see them in the editor, but how do i actually PLAY THE GAME on them?

I can't really find a clear answer anywhere so here goes.

Thanks!

Uhm...

In the main menu, select "Scenario Battle". After that, there will be two small windows on the planet's screen, one which says "Select Activity" and the other one which has the name of the scenario.

Well, in Select Activity choose anyone that doesn't require an specific map (for example, skirmish battle, One Man Army, etc.) and then all the maps should show up.

That's it.
