Icelands - Patch #2 & *New Image*
Ice themed map. Working snow that alters terrain after a while. 2 Custom actors (light and fast, heavy and slow). 8 custom weapons. Includes placeable snow rocket silo and wall (pictured bunker not included), including the fences below. The snow emitters are also placeable, so put them at the top of the screen if you need more snow. Has custom activities.ini ( not commented out) for deployment of arctic actors and weapons. Credits: TheLastBanana for letting me use his textures, snowmen, etc. I'll have Arctic Mission uploaded in a while. The Cheytac rifle isn't mine, I found it in my old folder and resurrected it. If anyone knows whose it is, please tell me. UPDATE 2: Uploaded a new patch for the existing mod, you don't have to re-download the ICELANDS PACK .rar. Added a weapon and some bunker pieces. Snow redone by Thanatos. It no longer will collide with actors, and has working glows. Fixed background (thanks cambiogris). Now for pics: NEW: New snow GIF uploaded. Also added snow bunker bits (Igloos, anyone?), and added a bazooka. ^ By Thanatos ^ OLD:

Re: Icelands
One little hint: putting two .rars in a .rar does not make the file any smaller, and it is harder to put in your CC folder, just put the two .rte s in one .rar next time.
Good mod though.

Re: Icelands
The snow is a little bright, but I really like everything else. The fences and precipitation are a nice touch.
One thing you may want to fix is the three cascading blue pixels in the cloud image. I ran into the same problem when doing my desert map. They should be on the very right side of the image, underneath the clouds themselves.

Re: Icelands
Some people might still get the null.bmp error. Update that, too eh?

Re: Icelands
Weeelll....
Good Points:
Pretty map! It has snow that hits terrain and actors and accumulates over time! You have actors and guns in a map. While the guns are fairly plain, there isn't much you can go on with snow camo on guns. And of course, the addable snow emmiters.
Bad Points:
The map textures were given from TheLastBanana, even the snowmen. The half-finished bunker modules. You have some bunker modules resprited to look colder, alright, that's fine with me. You don't have all of them though, this seems like it should be in mod making. If you don't plan on adding all of them ever, then it should probably stay here. You do have this fence here, for no apparent reason. All I could think of was that you were messing around with making a bunker module that is only background. This is another reason I was thinking "Why the fudge isn't this in mod making?"
You might as well have re-posted TheLastBanana's Artic Mission map then put a link in that thread to your mod-addon of actors and guns. Hell, you really shouldn't even bother re-posting Artic Mission now that you pretty much have it right here.
All in all, a pretty average mod for my high standards and confusing tastes.

Re: Icelands
This is awesome. I think I had a snowy scene, but it wouldn't work because it couldn't define an instance called 'snow'.

I left this map on when I had lunch for 1/2 an hour. Guess what happened...

Re: Icelands
This looks interesting and the snow emmiters are a good idea, it gives the map a unique feel, although it might make the game a bit laggy. DL for sure.

Re: Icelands
Could you make it snow ice chunks? Or at least make it faster. It seems less like freezing land than slightly snowy.
