Problem with installing mods.
Okay, first of all I know how to install mods.
The thing is, is that I had a crapload of good mods (aal and grif stuff), but I downloaded the AK-47 Bayonette and the darkclones, and the game COMPLETELY ignores them in loading. How2fix?

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Shouldn't this be in Cortex Command General Forum, or the Mods and Scenes Mod Making Forums?

Re: Problem with installing mods.
I figured it would go here, since it is a problem with mods.

Well can I get help?
And I thought mod making was for incomplete mods and concepts.

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Are you sure they aren't mods that go in base.rte?

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Take the time to read OP. He said he downloaded Laser Bayonet and Darklone. Those are normal. You sure you're using Build 20? If you're still using Build 19, you wont be able to use mods.

Addition to "Mods that cc will ignore for some gay reason" Shooks mod pack. Whats odd is that I downloaded the shock maul and it worked fine.

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Actually, my problem sorta meets with this...
I have the files in both the CC file AND Base.rte, but do I have to fuss around and put all the individual sprites in the Actors sections and stuff? Because, otherwise, it won't load in the editor, although it loads in the Actor Editor.

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Maybe try having the Index in Base.rte read the mods... Since Build 20 loads mods in the trial now, nothing's illegal about it, and it's not really hard to remove it again. Just open up the Index.ini and copy in the lines of the other Indexes, like this: Code: DataModule IncludeFile = Base.rte/Materials.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Sounds.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Effects.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Ammo.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Devices.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Actors.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Scenes.ini IncludeFile = Base.rte/Activities.ini IncludeFile = ABT.rte/ABT.ini IncludeFile = AK-47 Bayonet.rte/AK47B.ini IncludeFile = Bombs.rte/Bombs part 1.ini IncludeFile = Bombs.rte/Bombs part 2.ini IncludeFile = Bombs.rte/Bombs part 3.ini IncludeFile = Bombs.rte/BlackHoleBomb.ini And so on... Not sure if it works, but it's worth a try.

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Sheezy, you need to tell us what you've tried already instead of us just stabbing in the dark with suggestions and you freaking out when you say you've already tried them.
I don't understand how you guys can mess up this whole mod loading process so badly...

I also have a problem with your mods, Shook. it says "DDTError.cpp on line 109" and then goes on to say something about trying to access an out-of-bounds data module. It's so angry about this that it shouts at me using an exclamation mark! The bastard. Anyway your mods didn't load initially, which isn't that uncommon. So I do the index thing just as you mentioned and then the errror pops up and slaps me in the face. Is there anyway round this?! I'd really like to make the most of this game WHICH I PAID FOR. Seeing as I can only use the game's defult "asenal" of weapons at the moment, I'm not very happy.

Re: Problem with installing mods.
That happens if you remove the DataModule line from the Index.ini of the RTE or if you remove the Index.ini altogether. Put it back. I have had no problems with any mods except for the ones I converted. So much stuff to change

Re: Problem with installing mods.
Beakless, have a look at the third page in my mod pack thread, there is an experimental solution... But i don't know if it works
