Take the contour file. Open it in paint. Make it bigger. Save it. |

Then, in the .ini file for it, set it's size coordinates to it's new dimensions. |

Hmm, ive been playing around with the folder structure and .ini files and painted a wider scene for a wider map but i cant seem to get a hold of it and understanding how everything works. Also i cannot change any new size coordinates in the .ini file for the custom scene. it says i can make maps in base.rte , promgrounds.rte and all kinds of different .rteĀ“s what does this mean? can i make my own .rte and put in my own .bmp (custom size map) and open it up in editor to place out stuff and save it as a custom sized map with base built in it? Could i kindly ask for a wery detailed tutorial for this, once i understand how it works i would jump on to make some wery cool maps. |

Just mess around with this until you understand scenes a bit better. The different colors in the .bmp are different types of dirt. (Extract and put the .rte folder in the Cortex Command folder.)

Excellent! Templates is always a big help to fiddle with and getting to know how it works, ive managed to make a custom size map, and adding mod-stuff to the editor making them deployable. I didnt get the backdrop/background to work with custom size map though. Any tips with that? |
