How do you make an actor support itself (other then making it light???)

If you got a big actor that cant stand long enough to take a step how do you fix that???
example a mech that stands for about 2 seconds then falls...

So the weight is the only way to change that then...
Was hoping that I could make the legs stronger or something along those lines...
