In my first mod I basically copied Coalition and dropped the sprites in, but because it was my first mod I probably went in and tweaked every single value to see what effect it would have.

Now I have a problem that I can't seem to fix.. when a guy dies from my faction the body doesn't settle the way other bodies do - in which you can shoot a small sharpness value object into the body and most of the pixels above the shot disappear (very common so I hope you know what I mean by this). Instead, the bodies get treated as ground, so if you shoot into them they resist the shot entirely and cause annoying floating pixels everywhere that hinder your path. I can't figure it out but I'd love to correct this mistake I made, and learn why it's happening.

Anyone know what causes this? I mean as far as I can see I'm using the same AtomGroup and DeepGroup properties as Coalition still....

That happens to materials that are in the scene without a background layer (no bunker backgrounds or the dark background from digging terrain away).

So, try testing your actor on the surface of the map, with the blue sky background behind it.

The thing is.. I was testing it on the firing range scene and it has a trigger area to get other actors to come out and other actors work fine.. blood comes out, falls, accumulates and you can shoot a bullet through it all and clear it very easily. Then I switch my actors out and they form ground instead of doing that thing where you can clear the lower pixels/atoms and the ones higher up shred away too.

Oh.. nevermind I think I figured it out, the custom materials I'm using do actually gib into (TransformsInto) earth.. Something I took from Pelian Army a long time ago. Thanks though, you helped me de-construct what the cause was.. I thought it would be a neat effect to have a long time ago but having the infantry's gibs settle as earth proved to be quite annoying..
