Hello I am new to the forums and I am wondering what the scene editor is?
I have looked around the forums and still can't find a cohesive explanation of what it is?

Thanks.

The scene editor places objects in a map, or make a new one with objects placed in it, it's a lot like the beginning of a skirmish defense, but with more controls and it saves it as a loadable map after.

To make it a loadable map you need to have:
  • A .rte folder
  • A folder in the .rte called Scenes

After you save the scene, you need to edit it and add a position on the world map to load it from, it should be up the top of the file.

I hope that sums it up.

Edit:
Also, the title of this thread gave me an idea for a sticky, although we already have many, what about a "Explain this" thread, where you post something, (always a single thing like "Gibthis;") then anyone who knows what it means can explain it to them, it'd save a lot of minor threads..

Yes, but only for placing objects.
