Pushing the Dropship Design
Hello DRFF,
In the background I've been touching up on dropships, exploring mass and thrusters placement for design variety. One key thing I'm needing to find is how hardcoded the main engines are in terms of their linked rotation. Simply, is it possible to alter the main engine's default actions? Such an answer would allow two items:
Create another balance system where if the main body rotate n amount of degrees, the outermost engine will rotate towards the outside. The inner engine will either maintain its default maneuver or also rotate to outside, in a lesser degree, in adjusting momentum
Free up the retros for more modding and allow for independent steering AI, emergency boosting, and boundary protection.
Added, Rocket modding is actually good for getting some of these effects. However the DSHip modding will be vastly superior if the engines are steering freely

Re: Pushing the Dropship Design
As far as I'm concerned, dropship engines are hardcoded into position.
But you might be able to do some funky lua stuff to take them out of position.
Don't take my word on this though.

Thanks for that Coops. If I find useful answers to these questions I'll likely post them or add such to the mod tied into it.
