Post Need Help Creating Ammo Effect
Hey guys, just me failing at lua again, need a bit of help making a cool bullet effect so I'm going to explain this the best I can.

The ammo type my faction fires is pretty much a normal machine gun round, the same sort of thing the coalition fire but with a small and cool difference. Rounds have a core of plasma that heat up when fired from a smg/assault rifle, they glow while shooting through the air and burn when they are in the flesh of their target. I've tried all sorts of trickery using my .ini knowledge. I tried using longer glows for a quick fix but found when fired at an angle the glow doesn't follow the direction of the bullet. Screenie below:

But yeah not sure how I could resolve this without using lua which I still suck at. -.-

If I'm going to achieve a cool bullet effect using lua I may as well push the boat out and make it a bit cooler than just a glow so all suggestions/diagrams/inspiration/code would be all be greatly appreciated. xP

The easiest way is to use emitters emitting glow particles both forward and backward. But this can be really hard to balance right and get looking good.

Yeah I tried something like that, it made it look a bit fizzly, not really what I was going for. I wanted more of a consistent glow on the bullet like it is glowing hot. It'd make them a little more visible too.

Some simple lua that created glowing particles in front of, on and behind the damaging particle would probably be the way forward,

Right... think I know how to add the emitters but how do I reference the damage particle? o.O
