Hello I'm Axel the developer of Xenolith: The Foundry. It's a website dedicated to mod hosting for indie games only. Offering mod hosting to smaller games and taking the load off the game devs. The service is free and it is used by the community of Project Zomboid and many other games. I've noticed that a lot of people seem to be hosting their own files seperately and publicizing them in threads in these forums. Moving or mirroring at a specialist hosting site has many advantages. People can easily find the install instructions and the download links (the threads can get convoluted, particularly for popular mods like Unitec etc), and so that it'll also stop mods disappearing if the users get bored and or if the filehoster deletes the file. The features are listed below: Features: - Upload directly to our servers or use the built in Link-System to continue using services like Adf.ly or other filehosters. - No download limits. - Upload files up to 250MB - Add screenshots or explanatory images in a gallery. - Add descriptions. - Gain exposure, thanks to our popularity system. - Add as many files and images as you want. - Track your visits and downloads in detailed analytic data. Full Graphs and everything. - Rank yourself among other modders, if you like. - Add source code for other modders to use. - Optional: Choose from six creative commons licenses and let others know what they can do with your creation. For a more detailed list: http://xeno-mods.com/features And of course here is the site link: http://xeno-mods.com I've added a few categories for you guys to upload your mods to the site. If you think there should be more or different categories please tell me. I hope you enjoy the site UPDATE: We've changed the website, so that your mod is the main attraction. No more annoying sidebars and banners. |

Hi there Zushii! While your post is pretty blatant advertisement, I feel like this is the alright kind. Also the fact that you apparently checked in on our local community before making your post makes it a lot more believable. Hopefully people will take some advantage of your site as it looks to be pretty functional and stylish. |

Yes, a lot of mods dislike this kind of "advertisment" however this is meant more for the community, than for my personal gain. I hardly make any money if any at all from this...seriously, ad revenue is like nada. And since I haven't seen any mod database for CC yet, I thought I'd help the community and give support |

We had one a long time ago but the host of the database has been absent for about just as long too. |

Coops wrote: We had one a long time ago but the host of the database has been absent for about just as long too. Ohh, those ones. Probably one, where the host has to update the database himself? Yeah, those are impractical. Here the authors do it themselves. It's great if you like to keep your mod updated with frequent patches. The authors have full control over their entries. |

Awesome (Without trying to overstay my welcome, think you could add download links in your threads? Not a lot of CC players will be viewing this website for mods until it gets a little more attention, so for the start it would be great if you could post your links, if you mirror them. If you are hosting them exclusively on xenolith like some of the PZ guys do, then well you are most likely going to be using the xenolith link as a download link Don't hit me! ) |

Sounds fantastic. As much as I love Minus, I can't for the life of me figure out how to view download statistics. I'll give this a shot. |

It may be my browser (FF14.0.1), but the site is displaying the Intro and Description boxes much too wide. As a result, they're appearing under the various options on the right, like the User Panel. Makes entering stuff a little tricky... |

Hello, What an amazing time it has been. We have been growing at an astounding rate each month. Now currently housing over 415 indie gamers! Thanks to everyone! I’ve been rather busy myself with work outside of Xenolith, therefore I didn't have much time for Xenolith. However I did find enough time to bring you this amazing update. Let’s start off with the obvious update. The new clean design. While working in my current job in a media agency with a professional designer I learnt a lot and used this knowledge to update the design and make it more accessible and modern. I hope you enjoy the new all-around cleaner look. Another new feature is the slick drop down control panel. It’s fixed at the top right corner and offers everything you already know and love. But now it’s less in the way and only pops up if you actually need it. The last cool feature is the new search engine which allows simultaneous mod title and tag search. You should find it to be more accurate and helpful. The rest are bug fixes, code optimizations and cross browser optimizations. IE users should be able to download and view pop ups properly now. If you are viewing the site and things look odd, I suggest refreshing the site. (F5 on Windows) You can view the entire site at http://xenolith.ws Happy gaming and continue being awesome! |

Cool stuff there Zushii. I especially love the dropdown user panel. I have found one thing that I dislike though. I have to make a really oversized picture and upload to get myself a logo as thumbnail for my mods. This seems like a needless waste of resources in my opinion. Especially since for Cortex Command mods, the readability of a screenshot is terrible at so low resolutions and a logo or some such is usually a lot better. |
