Cant believe i have to make an account just to ask this So im new too this moding, but so far iv been able to figure things out myself mostly, except this thing. so i edited a gun, making it able to shoot faster, but the actor keeps dropping the gun after the second shot. i figure its to heavy or high recoil, but i looked throo everything in the gun file, and i basically teared it IN and out, and still he drops it. (the actor is a HEAVY BTW, not a light unit) i cant figure out what makes the gun to Not drop. i searched both google & this forum, the tutorials i found didn't go over this info. i figure this question goes in mod Making since that's what i'm doing... |

The JointStrength variable determines how much force the weapon can take before it is detached, try raising it. |

Sounds to me you're using an actor with strong arms that fires a round that is extremely heavy. How heavy is the bullet/rocket/rock/building/whatever you're firing? Also, does the gun get damaged when your actor drops it? |

Sounds like you edited some already overpowered gun to be even more overpowered Well, anyways, you can try adding a line called RecoilTransmission somewhere in the gun data. Set it to 0.10 or something and there should be pretty much no recoil*. Code: AddDevice = HDFirearm PresetName = <whatever the gun is you're modifying> Description = <blah blah blah> AddToGroup = <Weapons> AddToGroup = <Primary Weapons> RecoilTransmission = 0.10 Mass = ... *very little recoil |

i tried RecoilTransmission = 0.10 but whenever i added it the game crashes when i try to start it. yes i added it correctly, (i think) and tried many different ways to add it, still crashes. I don't think the gun takes damage, as i dropped & picked it up tons of times while testing. not sure how heavy it is at the moment, but i changed all weight/mass to 0 or 1 when i messed about trying to fix it, and it didn't help. |
