I had a lot of trouble finding the abortscreen.png file even though I searched google for ages. In the end I just searched my whole PC for it and found it here: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Data Realms\Cortex Command On my x64 Windows 7 Machine My guess is x32 OS would use something like: C:\Users\jimbo8098\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command instead. Just helping out people who might be wondering where it got saved to. -Jimbo8098 |

If your abortscreen.bmp is in the VirtualStore like that then you really should move your Cortex Command out of Program Files and into its own directory on C:. Windows cripples application permissions in the Program Files directory in such a way that is problematic for Cortex Command. Once you have moved your Cortex Command directory out of Program Files, when the abortscreen.bmp is created on a mod related crash during load time, it will properly be in the root Cortex Command directory as Urch suggested it should be, which unsurprisingly makes it very easy to find. |

Urch wrote: A) it should be AbortScreen.bmp hahaha thanks for pointing that out there , edited title. as for your second point IDK why its not in root directory. I used to have CC in a completely seperate drive ( a SATA drive) It stays on the C: because it is now the SATA drive and my other drive is IDE , for video , pictures and all that other stuff. |
