Post Attempting to restrict AI spawn in skirmish mode
what files do I need to edit in order to restrict the sprawning of ai in skirmish mode?

I presumed it was "skirmish activities.ini" however nothing seems to prevent a near constant stream of enemies from showing up feet away from my doorstep.

Unlike the demo which provided a more periodic spawning allowing for more strategic gameplay.

I really don't find this current incarnation of skirmish entertaining at all.

Clusterf**k comes to mind when describing it.

as mentioned, I presumed editing the funds and spawninterval variables might've changed something but it seems nothing helps.

Skirmish activities are now defined in "Base.rte/Activities/SkirmishDefense.lua"

Ugh.

Nevermind, it seems getting to the basics is still relatively easy.

I was just worried I'd have to interpret a subroutine or two just to figure out how the spawning works.

You can open up base.rte\activities\skirmishdefense and look up the following lines:
Code:
      self.BaseSpawnTime =
      self.RandomSpawnTime =

There are several of these, for each difficulty mode.

I've added several activities to UniTec, which have been made significantly easier.
If you want to edit the base one though, here are some values that you can try:

Makes the game a lot more enjoyable in my opinion. :)

Edit: Perhaps you can try out akblabla's mod as well: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25425
