With attachable Lua rolling out I think we should reboot the Scorched earth mod we made a while ago. I still have sprites and sprite offsets of actors lying around. We could possibly rework this into a working mod with the new functionality. I am up for helping with sprites (albeit low quality) and possibly some sound effects and balancing. Current progress is at 4 different tank bases and a few GUI elements and effects.

A list of all the fun weapons and ideas for what resources we already have on CCForums:

Missile (vanilla missile), Baby Nuke (vanilla dropship bomb), Nuke(somethin' of shook's i guess),
Sand Bomb(BW:mercenaries sand grenade), Baby Digger(?), Digger(?), Heavy Digger(?),
Baby Roller(rolling bomb from UAV mod?), Roller, Heavy Roller, Napalm(vanilla incendiary bomb?), Hot Napalm,
Funky Bomb(modified vanilla cluster grenade?),
MIRV(modified darkstorm electric canister?), Death Head(MIRV and cluster bomb combined)

Aaaand the tools!

Shield (independent-autonomous robot), Medium Shield, Heavy Shield,
Parachute (if weapons eat terrain), Battery (vanilla health kit),
SmokeTracer (why the hell not?)

Is this the mod I requested years ago? It's nice to see progress after all this time.

Is it now possible to do pre-round shopping (i.e. start the first round with a set amount of cash, do your shopping, and then lock the shop when the round starts; cash is awarded based on damage inflicted and upon death of opponents, rather than by collecting gold, though I suppose since this is CC, there could be a "Gold Digger Drone" "weapon" that could be used to grab extra cash in lieu of focusing on damaging opposing tanks), or is that still something LUA can't do yet? Can the game even be converted to TBS play?

It is, we still need a coder to do the Lua for us. But from what I understand we should be able to do this with fewer hacks than before. However, I am still up for doing the majority of the .ini editing.

So are the firing mechanics still the modern "hold fire to build power"? Or are we going for the classic "enter Angle and Velocity values"? It might actually be easier to do the latter. Just make a little mini GUI/console, and enter your numerical values for each variable, and let Lua do the rest.
