Zombie Cave Mod - The Difficult Version (+ ku + sur + jetpc)
I was playing Cortex Command the other day, and rather miffed that none of the default scenes offered much in the way of challenging, yet focused, battle. (
I'm looking at you, Survival Modes.) To remedy this problem, I've changed Zombie Cave to be just the same, except instead of a few slow zombies with bombs, you have lots of fast-moving dummies with SMGs. This preserves the original feel of you VS lots of weaker poorly-armed enemies, while adding in an element of gunplay. While pistols could have been used, smgs are a more serious threat. I have not changed the final landing, since... well, to be honest, I've only managed to defeat the first spawn tank.
I feel this would be a good time to mention
MehMan's excellent take on Zombie Cave, which can be downloaded at
download/file.php?id=37241 It features a much greater range in difficulty, with 'cake' being default zombie cave and 'impossible' being heavies with machine guns.
Here is where I died. Note the size of the shell pile.This is a partial replacement for the base.rte and missions.rte folders. It'll probably tweak 'keepie uppie' and 'survival' as well (much improved, imho), and may grant better jetpacks. Everything is kind of mashed together, and I have no idea how to separate the gravy from the potatoes. (Besides, the jetpack is important for the cave. You're going to need a big gun.
