Tardis Landing Effect?
I'm making a TARDIS drop crate, and I'd like to stay as true to Doctor Who as possible. Any suggestions on how to get the landing to work properly on CC?

Re: Tardis Landing Effect?
The closest I've seen is the CroboTech orbital teleportation. An edit of sounds, reconfigured to allow for the appearance of a drop pod... plausible, definately.
Further investigation has led me to believe it isn't very easy.

Re: Tardis Landing Effect?
That is quite possible using clever animating of glows and stuff like that.

That would require some powerful lua and a really good glow artist who can make awesome fade in/out glows.

Re: Tardis Landing Effect?
Yeah I could use a glow artist, but what would be needed as far as lua goes? (I'm pretty new to lua, but most of it is simply lack of experience) Quote: I'd love a Tardis, and all 11 Whos and Cybermen and Daleks...
What you could do is have tons of frames for the sprite of it and animate it so it just looks like it's phazing in and out. this isn't going to be a Doctor Who themed mod, so sadly, I won't add much more than the Tardis, that is even if I have enough skill to make it. However, I'd like to add the Vashta Nerada that appeared in Silence in the Library, again IF I have enough skill (I HIGHLY doubt it in this case)

Yes. This is a good idea. I heartily approve. I am perfectly happy to help you with this, if I may.

I'd be most grateful. I am quite fond of Vashta Nerada, or more accurately the concept of them. In CC, they're sure to be fun to mess around with, especially if they're based on a neutral AI

Or even better, make your own AI. That way it kills everyone without exception.

Re: Tardis Landing Effect?
What I really mean is make it an MOSRotating or an MOSprite, give in a glow [AEmitter?] to make it look all swarmy, then Lua it to smack in some actor searching.

Re: Tardis Landing Effect?
Okay, I'll see what I can do for the actor searching, as far as the swarminess, I can do it. There are a couple things I'd like to do with it. I'd like to make it do one of two things (depending on the general resistance of the actor?) One: It turns them into a skeleton (a la the Sun Tuba) or Two: It sort of "Infects" them so the actor will be put into a sort of "search and destroy" mode, and of course it would target everything.

I would set the actor's team to -1. Anti-team skeletons of doom.
