Share your work playlist.
I get a certain feel for each mod. It's like they're all inspired by different things, each one makes a sort of thematic sense. Everyone works differently and that shows, i guess. So my question is this: when you're working on mods, what's on your iTunes or WinAmp or whatever? Now, i do drawings, i don't do code, so if you're mainly a code-poet or a tablet-slave then mention that. It might be telling. If you do both, do you listen to different music for either one? Alright, fill 80 minutes with your best work-playlist. I'll go first. okay 82 minutes. whatever. Anyway, i have to listen to music that sounds good to me or i completely get pissed off at it and it distracts me. So they're all songs i can ignore and just enjoy the sound of. But if i catch lyrics that i hate out of the corner of my eye then i also get distracted and pissed that someone thought that was some how NOT bad poetry. On top of that it can't be too distracting by being really story-heavy or having staggering lyrics either. Cause i'll act like a cat that just saw something shiny, then not get any work done. If you make a playlist i will listen to every song on it, start to finish, and show you the drawing i did when i tried it out. You could do the same, and that would be awesome! Consider that a "review" of the playlist coming from me.

When I do any work at all, I tend to listen to metal or aggrotech. Just some stupid noise I can keep going in the background that will prevent me from spacing out in thought or getting distracted by other people doing ♥♥♥♥.
Sybreed, Interbeing, God Module, Asphyxia, etc. Maybe Earth, occasionally.

Re: Share your work playlist.
I just listen to whatever music I happen to like at the time whenever I'm doing anything on a computer
that said, I like (in no particular order) metric, MGMT, phoenix, queen, ELO, rush, journey, system of a down, ludo, cage the elephant, the arcade fire, radiohead, muse and a decent variety of 'anything else that's on'

My work playlist (although not necessarily for modding, but other things too) is the soundtracks from the classic Sonic games and both Jet Set Radio games. This probably makes me a total loser and/or Sega nerd, but oh well. Also, it's well over 80 minutes (not sure by how much since WMP is a piece of crap) so I'm not going to upload it all.

Radiohead tends to "Catch" me, in that a lyric or something would get me lost in thought. I like noise music because there's nothing that can really get you, it's all completely shallow and meaningless.

Re: Share your work playlist.
When I sprite my best I actually prefer silence. This is because I sprite at my best when I am a particular kind of tired and am experiencing some disassociation/ very minor ego death and the only thing left in my mind is the inspiration.
When I force myself to sprite I have a funny TV show like Big Bang Theory or My Name is Earl in the background.
When I do homework, I listen to whatever I happen to be in to at the time (recently: ♥♥♥♥, The Mountain Goats, Modest Mouse...) + Daft Punk's "Discovery" and Lights' "The Listening", two albums I never tire of in the slightest and make me really productive. White noise works well also.
@Allen A Perfect Hand sounds good and I have trouble focusing on it. Good work music.
@Grif: Huh. I could never work while listening to Metric. I dunno it makes my brain feel all spiky.

Re: Share your work playlist.
It varies from week to week, sadly. The Veils or Death Cab or the XX if I'm working on something chilled out or menial (coding a menu or item interface or something, maybe spriting), The Protomen (Act II) for anything that needs some epic behind it for motivation (particularly lame coding tasks like button input or alternatively fun things like effects coding or gestural art) or some nice classical schtuff if I don't want to be singing along the whole time.
Metal that's still music (KoRn, quite often) is great for angry art. At the moment I'm more into the chill stuff though.

Re: Share your work playlist.
Eh I just listen to random stuff, mostly gorillaz and vidya gaem musics, or nothing. Both when scribbling random noise into forms called "sprites" or making my messy messy code. No way to squeeze that into puny 80 minutes, I'll just put a pic of my music folder. It doesn't include stuff I haven't bothered ripping from youtube but still listen to often. Eh, most should be figrable out. "YUP" is a finnish metal band with absolutely wacky lyrics, hc_ost stands for Hero Core ost. Actually; here's randomthemes eh there may be duplicates, haven't tocuhed that in a long time wut

Video Game OSTs, Remixes, and any other song I can get my hands on that I like. (Through the fire and flames, anyone?)
