Post palette probs
ok sorry for the post and ppl plz try and resist the urge to flame :)
first attempt at moding cc and planing to make a cyberdyne systems faction. so far i have a skinless model 101. my problem is geting the palette to work properly. i've loaded it up created each sprite and saved them as 256 colour bmp files. when ever i reload them though they seem to have reverted to paints original palette. thats loading them through paint or through the game.

i've been looking in the forums for the past few days now to try and fix this but every tutorial so far hasnt seemed to help. im using windows 7 and what ever version of paint it is that comes with it.

so anyone any idea why the palette keeps changing and how i can fix it?

The colors from the CC palette aren't in the 256 BMP palette.
I got around this by using a CC sprite as a base, and saving it as something completely different after finishing whatever it is I sprited.

Alternately, use GraphicsGale.

do u mean u saved it as something other than a .bmp? or u just saved it as a diffrent sprite? because i started with a dummy sprite to get a rough idea of scale then after editing it using the cc palette i saved it with a new name. thats why i cant understand where the problems coming from.
ill take a look at this GraphicsGale you said about anyway. unfortunatly i have a limit to how much a can download as im using mobile broadband :-/ so if the programs 2 big im gunna have 2 stick to paint.
