I have large experience in programming in general, (particularly Java) and minimal in Lua. I first started Lua when trying to make Mods for Garry's Mod. I soon decided I wanted to do Lua mods in a mildly similar 2D kind of game, because trig in 3D got annoying.

After a while of searching I found CC, and it's amazing! After beating it, I started modding right away with this tutorial:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-crowguard/tutorials/creating-your-first-cc-modification

I finished it, and tried it, however I had done a few things wrong. I found them and fixed them, but one problem persists, and I'm not sure what's going on. Deagle keeps generating an error I don't understand on the second line ("Could not match property at line 2"). I will attach FirstMod.rte since you might need it.

Also, make sure you tell me why this error happens and (if it isn't obvious) how to fix it, please, since I don't want to ask for embarrasing help in the future.

Thanks!

For one, your index.ini was messed up. For another, you're missing the moduleicon you included in it. If you want to have one you can insert one, but it's not necessary.

After I fixed those two things in the index it worked fine, and here is the fixed index.

Thanks. I finished! I set the attributes to a satisfying level... (OVERKILL!)

Then I refactored manually to rename it to Old Glory both in appearance but in code as well.

Yay!
