Post Epic Win.rte **WIP**
Ok peoples,

Before reading, please note: just because my mod is called "Epic Win" does not mean it is an epic win. If you are looking for the best mod in the world, I will admit, this is not it.

Made two guys, an extremely hench zombie called "Legal Homophob" and a human called "Major Spackie". There also now includes a Karoshi Bomb and on V2, Karoshi Rain which could also be called "Coming of Karoshi" .
Just for all you Karoshi Suicide fans.

What's new in V3:
Actors now have one vanilla gun by default (Legal has a blunderbuss, Spackie has a YAK4700)
Jukebox - Select your favourite vanilla BGMs (picture problem under improvement)
Reduction in size of Karoshi Rain folder
A semi-recoloured dropship (need to redo gibs)

No idea what else is coming in V4 (possibly nothing) other than a fix to all current bugs.

Needs serious work, so give me tips!

Why do I need an actor identical in function and looks to the browncoat if I already have the browncoat? That doesn't really sound "epic win" to me.
Also please post pictures.

This is not how you release something, though asking for help on making somehting is fine.
First off, you really do need to add pictures to your post to explain what it is.
Secondly, while picture is worth 1k words, you have neither. You need to actually tell us what's in your little pack.
Thirdly and finally, what the heck do you mean with "no distribution please?" Are you indicating that nobody else should share your mod, or what? (Yeah, because nobody else can make a browncoats remix.)

In summary, please try harder.

Not that impressive to be honest, the actors for one i could never see myself wanting to use,
although the Karoshi bomb sprite is kind of amusing.

I would've chucked this in the minor mod dump :???:

He specifically wants comments and help, which is a good thing for a new modder to have.
For the most part, if all new modders chucked all their mods into the minor mod dump, they would never learn what the community wants.
The expectation standard for this community is ridiculously high.

Soooo, this guy is thinking that two rip-off Browncoats and a bomb is "Epic Win"? Might want to consider getting your facts right there buddy.

I dare say that in this case originality wins the day because an innovative abomination will attract more attention than a beautifully crafted repeat.

I wouldn't consider this working and he want help not downloads -> this topic should be in mod making.

Er... ok got mixed responses there (mostly bad).

Don't think i'm not listening, I have read all your comments and will sort everything out when I can. I admit, "Legal" needs work and I know that this mod will not dare to rival some of the greats out there, but whatever.

Some of the responses you guys gave was helpful (naming no names) and some was less constructive and more destructive. I was asking for help in terms of release in this forum and now I am slightly more prepared for it.

Thanks to everyone who posted helpful comments (you know who you are).

V2 + pics on the way.

Some pointers:
You'll want to look into hosting your images elsewhere, somewhere like tinypic.com will be fine. That way you can embed them into your post. Save all images as a .png before uploading, never post .bmps (they are uncompressed which leads to massive filesizes).
Secondly, you've got a fair bit of unneeded stuff in the .rte (promotional .bmps etc), as well as a massive .ogg and some other large sounds in the explosives folder which are keeping your .rte at a massive size, downsample them and see if you can cut down on the actual lengths, they're needlessly massive! there's not going to be noticeable quality loss in-game.

A. Get your facts straight. Some of my mods are actually called stuff like epic and they aren't even that epic (though this mod is pretty epic.) because it would take forever to rename it to something else due to rewriting loads of filepaths.
B. Just because this forum's expectations for mods are ludicrously high (which I HATE) doesn't mean you have to be mean to a modder that doesn't live up to your expectations.
C. How do you think saying stuff like this to him affects him? Do you think this motivates him to make more mods? He worked hard on this mod and you crushed him for it. Do you think he'll ever live up to your expectations if you punish him for trying?

I reccomend everyone who has participated in this thread to relax and give constructive criticism if you don't like something.

Open in Notepad++. Replace in all documents.
Done.
Also, epic tends to grate, due to inappropriate usage of an otherwise wonderful word and perceived attitude.

The tone of his post was not necessarily 'mean'. It could have been playful, for all you know.
