Hi all.

I have been playing CC for some time, and have read lots of posts, but this is my first, so forgive the noobish attitude! :0

I have created an "Epic Win.rte" mod from the empty "Whitebots.rte" mod. One of my mods, a bomb named after Karoshi (Death by overwork :lol: ). There is a serious problem, however, whenever I try to buy one from the buy menu, as soon as I click bombs, the entire game freezes and i have to use task manager to close the game (wtf? :shock: ).

Have attached the mod, please download and give advice, but do not distribute as it is a work in progress and full version will be posted somewhere laterz...

I have a strong feeling that it might be because the name is too long. Replace the dash with a space and you should be good to go. I know that the word "refridgerator" is too long for CC to handle, and "Karoshi-Bomb" is only one letter short of that.

I think the character limit per word is 11. Replace the dash (-) with a space instead and you should be good.

Thanks so much guys, really helpful. :grin:

Did not realise about character to word limit, and will remember in future (hopefully!). I know the karoshi bomb is kinda big, but that is deliberate... but i'm not sure why.

Thanks again for the quick reply. I hope you'll test my mod out when it's done!

Why do we even bother with FAQ's?

Directly from the general troubleshooting FAQ

General TroubleShooting wrote:
Common Error Four: Using the buy menu, switching to a certain tab freezes game.

Commonly Seen When: Playing Skirmish/Mission

Reason: One or more Actors, Guns, Crafts, Bomb, or Shield has 11 or more letter in a single row, eg: Worthlessman

How to fix: Go into the most recent Mod(s) and go into all the .inis and then find the following:

AddActor = AHuman
PresetName = Worthlessman <==== more than 11 letters

Change to

AddActor = AHuman
PresetName = Worthless man

Then it should work.



P.s It's wonderful to see a new modder though, just post here if you have more questions.

you should make the karoshi bomb lag the game to death.

me and venbrux [2dcube] actually email talked about gamemaker a bit back in 07.
