Hey, I've been trying to edit sprites for Cortex Command on my Mac but when i save the new edited version, Cortex Command can't load it.

I have saved the files as BMP files, but still they won't work.
Can someone please help me!?

What program are you using?
Are you just copy editing the file, or creating one from scratch, or using "save as..." ?
What, specifically, happens to CC? (outright crash, error message, etc.)

I'm using Pixen, and 'saving as' but i still get an error message and Cc goes to the abort screen.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you configure the palette to work from?

Then again Pixen may just be terrible.
I have not made it work yet, even when it thinks it is in palette it's not really.

Not sure what lengths you want to go to to make it work.
I started using window's paint running inside WINE when I got tried with photoshop taking up just about all of my machine's CPU doing nothing.

Well If you could tell me about any programs which would allow me to edit sprites on my Mac that would be great!

What fancy features do you guys actually use? In MSPaint, I use the pencil, eyedropper, the selector box, and sometimes the eraser's recolour feature. I don't see a need for much else.

I'm sorry but if you're using premade shape tools frequently enough to mention it you're doing it wrong.

How is the rotating in GraphicsGales and stuff? I can see it being useful maybe. Wouldn't transparency not work considering we're using CC palette only?

Transparency is usefull for finding colors to use for glass and such.
Rotation in gg is kinda like the one ingame in CC.

Used to use paint untill i got w7. I downloaded gg trial, loved it, bought it and not touched mspaint that much since. Paint DOES have upsizing and downsizing by a factor of two easily acessiblee though, so it's still usefull.

Alright. I'll give it a shot when W7 gets installed this weekend.
