The only problem I know of that will make those stripes is the sprite being out of palette. You're probably doing something wrong and it isn't actually in palette. |

A good way to put something in palette, is to copy the palette into your folder and paste your sprite into the copied palette (the copied palette is your new sprite). Then just crop if needed. |

If you load something in some versions of photoshop and then change formats, it will stay in indexed mode but lose the colour table. I find this pretty annoying, as once you do something in the wrong colour table, there's no way to fix it. |

... Through Photoshop I'm guessing. There are other programs that can put it back. |
