I tried to re-color a character in photoshop, I edited the scripts to listen it... Okay. When I was gonna test, the character was messed up, it was with a invisible leg, when I turn left, the character becomes a messed-up square, so, can anyone help me with it?

Thank you. :D

Just paste it into the palette using mspaint, then save it as the desired name.

Yes, I know, but there's a way to edit the WHOLE character?

YES! WHAT I SAID!

You paste each image into the palette, then you save them as the desired name.

YOU OPEN THE PALETTE, PASTE IN THE SPRITE, THEN SAVE IT! IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!

And how do I change as the desired color?

You cannot use any other colors but those in the palette, if that's what you're asking.

No, Duh102. I mean there's alot of colors on the pallete, so, for example, if I want to change the sprite color from yellow to green, how do I select the color of the pallete?

THe palette is an indexed .BMP file, so you just pick the colors from it, then you use those.

And there's a faster way to re-color a character?

Post subject:  Re: Help needed

Nope, Not really. You cant just shift them to a different color, you gotta practically resprite it ( I think)

wow alot of drama xD, ok to tell you, NO YOU HAVE TO DO IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SORRY.
Heres the process:
1. Open Mspaint
2. Zoom in ALL the way.
3. Expand the screen so it fills your window.
4. Find the palette in base.rte, copy then paste in mspaint.
5. Colour the background pink (very top left or pallette) (tip, use the eyedropper looking tool [colour chooser])
6. Find colours you want on palette and draw a line of the colour somewhere on the sheet.
7. Then Copy the actor's head, limbs, and body sprites onto mspaint.
8. Recolour them using the bucket tool or the pencil.
9. Paste them into respective file name.
[if you got the file from C:/Program Files/Cortex Command/Coalition.rte/Actors/Soldier/ArmA001.bmp
Save the new ArmA001.bmp in C:/Program Files/Cortex Command/Coalition.rte/Actors/Soldier/ArmA001.bmp]
10. open up cortex command and enjoy.

P.S i included my base spritesheet, it has the palette and the colours i usually use for my X2 Faction, just recolour your srpties there.
P.SS IM CANADIAN SO DON'T TELL ME Colour is spelled color, WE USE COLOUR HERE IN CANADA!!!!

in mspaint, select the eraser tool.

select the colour you would like to replace with the eyedropper (say, green or blue or whatever)

then, RIGHT CLICK to select the colour you want to replace that colour with, (let's say, i don't know, red.)

now, with the eraser over the sprite, hold RIGHT CLICK and go over the sprite. all of the foreground colour will be replaced with the background colour. that is as fast as you can possibly recolour something in mspaint.
