Evening gents.

Me and TLB have been bouncing an idea off each other for a few days, and we've reached a solid idea for a mission scene.

All the idea work is down, TLB is (so generously) coding the mission, so here's what we need from you, the eager spriter. If you want the job, we'll fill you in with the whole plan.

- Large background sprites (Devastated cities, probably.)
- A few unique actor sprites (Characters and the like.)
- An APC/Other vehicle sprite (The mission will be based around the very excellent EDV armored car mod.)
- A few miscellaneous sprites (Think debris, foreground bodies, the like.)
- A few weapon sprites (For the player vehicle, and possibly more actor held devices.)
- Bunker modules (Don't worry too much about this one, chalk it up to a 'maybe'.)

Want to give it a shot? It will be quite a bit of work, but the mission should be well worth the effort when completed. Post in this thread, and give me a PM if you feel so inclined.

I look forward to my no doubt soon to be overflowing inbox.

EDIT: For sake of clarity, I'm just going to write the idea here.

The player will begin as an MG equipped vehicle at one end of a devastated city. 4 (Possibly more) survivors stranded through out the city will be in perilous situations and require saving. Each passenger saved, according to whom they are, will grant a perk to the player vehicle, like a cannon, or the ability to use heavy lift elevators.

The perks will largely allow the player multiple pathways through the level, such as blowing down a heavy door with a cannon, or using an elevator to get above an obstacle. These paths will vary and make the level more interesting to play, but if you fail to save any survivor at all, you can still complete the level. It will just be really difficult navigating underground paths filled with zombies ripping your vehicle apart.

Any further questions may be posted in this thread, or my inbox.

Shouldn't this be in requests?

I'm fairly good with devices and actors, but I'm no good at big environmental stuff.
So I could contribute, but certainly can't do the entirety of the spriting.

How about you describe one of the characters to me, I'll give it a shot, and we'll see where it goes from there?

Thought about it, but this is more of a project then a single request. If I'm mistaken in placing it here, I'm sure someone will move it.

*Consults random number generator, and list of characters.*

Alrighty, you landed on Toby the Engineer.

Think nervous, light framed guy. A techie that can fight but is scared by the thought. Battle damaged armor, maybe a bit of blood splatter on him if you can manage (Not his blood, just from close quarters battle.). The rest you can use your imagination for.

Maybe the whole thing's a project, but right now you're only showing the request without information on the project, so that's why I brought that up.

Anywho, I'm getting starting on that.
Should this be regular CC style, or more dark and dirty?

I could contribute some .ini modding too. Maybe a little bit of rudimentary Lua scripting too.

Well, if a moderator feels it should be moved, I won't object.

Anyways, dark and dirty is a good style to start with. I'll leave the soldier armor to your imagination.

And there may be a need for some ini modding as well, so thanks for offering.

I can help If you want, but i would need something to base off of, and I would need a bit more time than others because I need to finish my mod contest entry.

I can code actors, but no lua, and maybe sprites on smaller things, possibly even rifles.

Hey, I'm back. Sorry 'bout that gents, I took some nyquil to deal with a cold last night and passed out far sooner then I thought. I woke up to music and an open laptop screen of IRC. My bad.

I'll send you all the details for the project right now, I know azukki was kind of irked he didn't have them.

Also all this stuff is looking great so far.

Looks great, except it needs more clustered buildings. A city would have a far more crowded skyline, but it's a good start.

The more gritty soil is great too, and in fact, I'd love to see it overlayed with a road module with cracks in it, allowing the dirt to show through.

I got bored, so I made a rifle sprite. Its a slightly rusty bolt action rifle, based off the k31, a swiss rifle, but I changed it. the wiki article is :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K31

I need to work on the shading, and maybe find a better rust colour

Uploaded it on site, and in my post too if it dont work for one or the other

EDIT: got super bored, now it works ingame tweak to your hearts desire, the only thing needed fixing is that the gun floats at your guys head....
