I need spriters and coders and people that can make sounds.

Personally i can sprite.

The mod will consist of:

MNU soldiers - Human Weaponry(Think Coalition But More Realistic)
Prawns - Alien Weaponry
Nigerian Gangsters - Human Weaponry(Think Ronin)

Is anyone interested in making this mod with me?

All we really need is the mech and the alien weapons, rest is just plain old bulletsprayers.

There are too many humanoid actors in this game. No more. Prawns and their mech, that is all that is required.

I'm in. I can do sounds, I might be able to code (Never tried lua before, but know other languages) and if necessary can sprite.

You're either trolling, or lack the slightest bit of common sense. The above is done in a PM, not in the thread. Unless you have lost your PM rights, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Yo, stop being a backseat moderator and use the report function foo'.

inb4 pot calling kettle black, irony, hypocrisy.

Seriously, just use the report function Calling someone out on the board just encourages discourse and conflict.

I suggest you wait till its on DVD, so you can rip the sounds for the guns and mech instead of making your own.

huhwhatnothingheretooseecarryongents

DVD release? Awww....That's gonna take a while, but I have to agree. Unless you have extremely similar sound effects found.

Watch it online, find similar sounds. Best way I can think of. Also : It's a massive pain to rip sounds from a movie, especially a high budget, one like D9 because no sound is clean, there's always something else happening, E.G. laser firing noise is polluted w/ yelling, ricochets, explosions, etc.

I could do it. i've ripped individual sounds out of songs and movies before. clean sounds. its just a matter of finding the exact right 'instance' of it, and if it has some sort of an echo/reverb to it, you can add your own without messing it up.

If anyone can find me an upload of it somewhere I can probably get the sounds of 1 weapon done in about half hour to an hour. I just need a long enough scene that I have a chance to get a clean sample.

Uhm, no it's not. It's my thread :) Oh and thanks for adding to the thread! You really helped.

Anyways, are anyothers interested in making this?
Could do with some coders obviously so we can get this thing moving.

I'm currently concepting how the weapons will work on paper then transfering to vector before i sprite anything ingame.

Progress so far:

Google imageserach around the net, you'll find good shots of the poleepkwa's weapons. Although I've yet to find the orange glowy push-you-off-to-neverland weapon pic.

Scripting, not coding :P
Also, What weapons would even need sparkle magic?
I mean, what do the prawn have?
A flamethrower, an electro-splatter gun, a shockwave cannon, 'nade launcher & machine guns? Right?
All the Lua we need is for homing rockets and the gravity gun thing, which both already exist and might as well be borrowed from other authors (with permission, of course.)
Or am I forgetting something?
