				  Cortex Command Barebones Edition

So, I've stripped CC down to almost nothing, it loads in 5 seconds on my computer. Barebones edition has a Coalition Light, RocketMk1 and a Braincase. Activities have been stripped to nothing and no weapons are included. To make a barebones installation you need to install CC and then just copy the folders in my rar into the installation directory of CC, overwrite everything. http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1649320/Cort ... s/CCBB.rarIt's this fast. I ♥♥♥♥ you not (It's ugly because of gif compression) Be sure to report bugs

I have been using my own brand of stripped CC for awhile now, but I didn't know if it was considered against the rules to post it. I can say it's a valuable tool for any modder. I went so far as to change the space station sprite on my copy to 48 size font that reads "MOD TEST" so I can always tell if I've loaded the wrong CC. Glad this is out there now.

I am Duh102, and I approve of this package. Not that it matters what I approve.
One thing though, would it be possible to package everything you need to run, like the CC.exe and all? If you didn't distribute a key or crack with it, I (shakily) think Data wouldn't mind.

Play free CC.*

The only problem I see is if a mod has a referance to Ronin/Coalition/Dummy .RTEs. Or mayde you could have something like:
AddDevice CopyOf = Pistol PresetName = SomeVanillaDeviceNotInBase
And that could solve the problem.

yeah, or maybe people could not have vanilla dependancies bar null.bmp and the like.

I find that just loading dummies works with almost all mods I test on my copy. On occasion something references Coalition, but I rarely run into things from Ronin or Undead.

Ideally mods should only reference files, not objects/gibs/etc from original content folders, meaning that to drastically reduce load times all you have to do is remove every reference to content.
