This is my mission to produce a decent first mod, with the help of a spriter, and to make it decent.

IMPOSSIBLE! I hear a crowd of trolls scream to my left, while nublings fire up their flamethrowers on my right.

So I'm not gonna waste time convincing you it's gonna be awesome.

But I do need a spriter.

Spriting is 1/2+ of the job. I assume you'll take a sprite, paste it over some vanilla ♥♥♥♥, and tweak the rate of fire or whatever and call it a day.

If you really must use an unused sprite, and have nothing specific in mind, why don't you go raid the sprite dump?

Actually, I'm gonna be making katanas, of which there are no unused sprites, many types of 'nades, a custom gameboy-style handset, and all that ♥♥♥♥. And I need it to be done based on the graphics of a game, which is already in pixels, so it'll probably be easy.. Anyway, I'm gonna be doing at least a half-assed effort at coding. It may be my first mod, but it's not my first time coding. There will be 5 units, each with custom weapons and/or gadgets.

I'm extremely glad that there's another modder around these parts, but I don't see the point of this thread.

Case 1: You make a mod. This thread only reduces the suprise factor and you don't get as much "good job, I wasn't expecting that of you."

Case 2: You don't make a mod. Foosh foosh goes the flamers.

Swords and grenades are like the easiest to sprite, but you can have these swords I made, if you want. (A slight modification will make 'em Katana-y.)

You don't understand. I need a spriter, to sprite weapons in the CC pallette based off a game completely from scratch. I can't just edit files, I'd rip off the UniTec katana if I could.

if its going to be based off a game you're going to lose serious originality points.
also, he just gave you like countless swords that you can make into a decent katana.
for grenades, go zombie some BW and vanilla stuff together.
for actors, resprite a coalition soldier.
boom, now you have placeholder sprites. get working on the most important bit: how it plays; keep looking for a spriter while you do this. the end.

Okay, here's the thing. I'm making a Warbears mod. This means certain things need spriting now, as there's no placeholder for, say, a Nintendo DS Lite. Now is anyone gonna sprite? Or do I have to hunt for someone with an email address to pester?
