Re: energy shield?
We just had a shield themed mod contest not that long ago. Search for it and take a look.

Re: energy shield?
did not really have time to search, but i found a shield pack, like shileds you gotta hold. i was kinda looking for one that attaches to a char and protects him from bullets while he can still fire though

It like, destroys the bullets when they get within range, or something. As far as I know It's impossible to do a proper shield yet, at least not if you want to be able to shoot back.

If they are heading into the shield, you apply whatever shielding you want. If they are not, don't do anything to them. You'd have to use Lua for the attaching/holding as well though. Pretty much just check the shielding contest, there were shields that affected only bullets coming in and attached to the actor. Piipu's in particular demonstrate this well.

That sounds like you're still thinking physical shields vs. Lua'd up shields. Bad MO/MO collisions and all. In that case, then probably what you're describing would happen, and you wouldn't be able to fire out of it.

Re: energy shield?
ok i did it, id just like it to completely stop the bullets, because the keep hitting the armor underneath. but you can shoot back and it takes 7-8 hits for you before you get hit for real!
its an attachable btw, made for the person not something you can pick up sorry for all of anyone that wanted it to be a pick up because my master chief spawns with it, its causing some rocket problems because he flips and ♥♥♥♥ unless its a dropship but ill get right on that.
it does not restrick movement at all Winterous so no, you dont dig into the ground.

Re: energy shield?
if you're nice enough to Darlos he might let ya borrow his Point Defense used in the DarkStorm mod...just make it smaller.
