Post Hair and String and Stuff
Is there any way to do hair or rope? Like, different sprite or rotation on a point depending on directional velocity?

Maybe just a check for direction to tell the game to use different sprites?

I am no a clever man, so y'all will have to speculate at me and say LUA (lol) or Sparkle Magic tm lots of times.

I have asked the same question and been told "No".

But...I bet there's either a very clever, or a very convoluted way to do it with Lua scripting.

I would say damn complicated more like. You'd have to set velocities of MOSRotatings (or AEmitters/MOSParticles/etc) every update, which would be a pain.
Note, I'm no Sparkle Magic wizard, so there could be a simpler way, but that's all I can think of.

Well, you can use Lua to set the positions of objects in relation to eachother,
and set velocities on offsets on the object, but I can't get the velocity from a
certain point on the object, so it's doable, but it would look weird and the physics
wouldn't be correct (Unless you want to make it more laggy by doing math using
the AngularVel and the Standard Vel to get the Vel of a point on an object).

So yeah, it can be done

I'm happy with like, three directions.

Like, falling, forward movement, and neutral/upward movement.

Could you just make the hair a ragdoll hanging from their head?

Ahahahahahaha, Ragdoll, ahahahahaha. Haha...
By ragdoll I assume you mean an attachable. Data help you if you don't.

And by attachable, you mean stiff, not loose and rotate-y.

Umm, are you fo' reel?
When actors die, they lose their constraints and turn into ragdolls.

I mean, yes they might be called something else in 2d, but they're still ragdolls.

jesus christ winterous

do you even try to make serious replies

attn: kiddos, shutup. CC's not getting rope physics (officially) nor does it need them

Fake hair I have done. Not really a full head of hair, but more like long pigtails. If you look at the BLAME! mod, there's a female actor with a boomerang-like weapon, her hair is done by using a particle glow stream. Good when walking, but kinda weird when in air. Kinda like a reverse Deimos eye glow.

Shut the hell up man, I was asking a question.
Why CAN'T you make a ragdoll in CC?

And I didn't mean like TWENTY SEGMENTS OMZG!
I meant like, a 2 part object joined in the middle and at the actor's head.

Because ragdolls are dead. They're constantly actively trying to settle, and even then they're barely physically real; all Data does it remove the constraint that keeps ahuman torsos afloat.

Um um, how about like, four different hair animations based on directional velocity

Edit: Grif, you must admit, a big spiky mace on a rope would be cool. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES.
