I'm currently working on a dropship for my faction. I posted a thread about me needing help for the actor, but no one responded, except for one guy. Now, let me tell you, I am horrible with scripting. Absolutely horrible. I am average at spriting though though. I need help making my assault helicopter transport. I have no idea how to make the dropship look "natural". I have a good sprite I made myself, but I can't bring it to life. So here's a picture of it already. (Please do not take from my sprite or steal any of my work) And here's the mod so far. If you do not intend on trying to help, I would not incline you to download. It's in a heavy state of WIP. The heli can be found in the actors/dropship/crusader. (By the time I am done, I plan to have a normal version, a cargo version and a version that has a minigun but no doors) All I really need help with is the offsets, thrusters and doors. EDIT: New version with better Transport.

An asymmetrical dropship is probably not the best way to go. It just makes things harder. So if you can I'd recommend making a sprite where the front is facing the screen. |

It will have an attack helicopter variant with a minigun when it's finished. I felt that would be hard to do for an asymmetrical dropship. (The assault version will lose it's cargo + doors for a powerful chaingun) |

I suggest that you go look at the dropship someone made with one engine, [it belongs to the same faction as the oppressor, name's not coming to mind] and make your heli in it's likeness. Make your one engine the propeller, and attach emitters to make the blades chop stuff up, for the awesome. It'd be best if it turned around, but that would complicate things a lot. |

Helicopters can do loops. A dropship with my plane's propulsion code would do some fancy flying. |

I think dropship locomotion is waaay more like a helicopter than like your plane. Although some features of your plane's coding may be able to be incorporated in the making of a form of locomotion more like a helicopter than a dropship. |

With modified Grif's plane code, this dropship would be pretty cool. Not sure if AI can handle the deliveries with it, but maybe if one could switch between the normal dropship flight and the plane mode? As for a single engine, it usually should be in the middle since its ment to balance the flight. If you dont want it to be in the middle, then just make one of the engines be invisible that does the actual pushing and place it in the middle and make it spew invisible particles while you take the other engine and put it where you want and dont add any particles that would push the craft. You can add any cool effect particles and such, but make sure the only pushing engine is the one in the middle that is invisible. Btw that uni-engine dropship is found in Kloveska Military Force mod. |

Looking good. Especially now that you fixed that canopy. This might help if your dropship is inspired by the Valkyrie. It shows how it's built, and every single part it contains. And how it's painted. I'll look for pix of the Vulture Gunship, those might help more... Also, you said something about needing help with offsets? |

Yeah. The thing flies like a normal dropship. I just want to move the engines and make it look more natural. The Kloveska Dropship flies funny. I don't think I'll use it as a base. If it gets pushed, it starts to fly into the ground. The thing has two invisible engines at the moment. I might use the wing model as the engine. Also, it comes with a few actors and weapons from my faction. Tell me if you guys like them or not. |

That's a pretty solid faction you've got there. The spritework was good, and the actors feel appropriately bulky. There were some issues, though. The rifle's offsets were really messed up, and the shotgun was WAY too overpowered. It could kill a clone halfway across the map with a single shot, and the recoil sent the user flying farther than a zombie can jump. Also, is there any difference between the soldiers 1 & 2 aside from their faces? By the way, do whatever you want to, but don't change the recon soldier. It's the best unit in the mod. |

Alright so here's what you've got: two controls for the rudder--(one would work, actually). This is what increases power to the tail and "flips" the dropship around. Some manner of lua-ed rotation; basic dropships can't turn very far with those piddly little thrusters. And then a throttle that increases power to the thrusters. |

Ok, I tested. The shotgun is indeed horridly overpowered (I killed a dummy below a concrete slab in a single shot with it), and it rapes terrain. Other than that, the weird tails the actors have (I assume that was supposed to be the coat...) and slightly odd offsets on the arms. |

Yeah, the shotgun is a bit overpowered. The only difference between soldier 1 and soldier 2 is the fact that soldier 1 is a lizardman and soldier 2 is human. It's a pro-democracy federation of lizard soldiers who also have some humans and other races in their ranks. It's mainly for diversity or for those who don't like lizardmen. |
