Mod Changer Contest
I have an idea for a contest. The idea is as follows:
1) Find a mod or vanilla gun that you think is cool 2) Make it even cooler in respects to its function 3) Provided there are enough people involved, pick a winner!! 3) Profit...

Re: Mod Changer Contest
I don't know if i like the idea of this specific contest, but i do agree that it would be nice to have another contest in the forums It seemed to spark a lot more activity, not thats its needed, but its an all-around fun thing to do, especially if theres some unique award, like a badge under your name or something along the lines of that

Re: Mod Changer Contest
If i was asking for that, I would have done it myself already. My request is aimed towards those folks who can manipulate coding well enough to make non-rape weapons into even better non rape weapons.

This could mean make the effects cooler or make just something about it cooler, but yes, in a way, it would just produce super-overpowered weapons for the most part. I think we should just have a contest with a specific theme, like mortars. Idk. Just a cool theme

Re: Mod Changer Contest
Perhaps, it seems that contests only work within easily identified limits so a theme such as that would not be a bad idea. I still stick with the mod-modification prescription I began with though.

I'd say 2 weeks to a month, but thats just me...... cuz most people just dont have time for making those mods so often, for thhey are working on other packs, so it would just be more time spent. If we did weekly, id assume most avid modders (currently preparing to release a smallish pack ) would opt not to particapate

Re: Mod Changer Contest
If you want a contest and people willing to join it, a good idea is to have a prize that the modders can strive for.
Otherwise its just "Congrats, you're pretty cool and now the show is over so gtfo."
Also inb4 pricks that will remind of the previous "contests". Get over it guys.

Re: Mod Changer Contest
I'd say if you have a contest, to make it 2 weeks long. Also, maybe make the prize be a special image in your sig? I dunno. Just a suggestion. Or make something like "Contests won = __" along with the location, post count, and date joined under our avatars.
And a certain theme is necessary. Otherwise you could have someone spend over 10 hours on some epic dropship with automatic turrets, and someone else who spent 10 minutes on a super suicide rainbow pistol.

I agree with this, Cept id say under your avatar, have a badge that says like "mortar contest winner" that doesnt take up too much space..

Re: Mod Changer Contest
Right, except that after a lot of contests, you have a bajillion badges instead of one small line of text.

Maybe like you can only win 1 contest every 2 months to give other people a chance? I dont know really......It'd be much cooler with little images under your avi, but i dont know how you could make it so that it doesnt crowd your "avi space".

Re: Mod Changer Contest
Okay: My idea of the contest is this; to make, for example, a mortar out of the grenade launcher, a mass-based assault gun out of the concrete sprayer, just anything that changes the game. This new person, or if he isn't new, person who I have never met, will probably have some ulterior motive, e.g. getting new toys that modders haven't made yet, but that is balanced out by the fact that everyone else can get them as well. I like the idea, so based on what I think the rules are, I'll submit my entry in the morning. I bid thee farewell. EDIT: I just realized I have my entry anyways! Will upload. Try it out for yourself. It is only code, but then it is only a vanilla edit. I use a mac, so filepaths might have to be changed. EDIT 2: Deleted it, go cry in the corner.
